Borderlands

I just started playing yesterday as Lilith. Still got the beserker to have a go with yet. Lilith's Phasewalk is not as good as I expected, I thought she'd be able to fire whilst invisible.

Yeah i found Lillith a bit meh too. Her ability always ends with you trying something funny, hitting something with melee, then being unable to carry on shooting before it hits you. Not to mention the focus on SMGs and elemental abilities when only the Hellfire is any good.

I'd go for Berserker tbh, nothing beats giving him a strong RPG and going nuts with a rocket regen class mod. Or trying to beef him up and play melee.

Where do you get this "Hellfire" from? Is it a quest reward or just random loot?

Combustion Hellfire, 1 of the more common and more powerful rare SMGs (orange-dark orange). Sets fire very easily, but then the Revolvers are 100% chance to cause elemental so its kinda pointless.

One thing I've noticed is that levels seem to make a big difference, just going up a couple of levels can change an extremely hard fight into a relatively straightforward one. In most games the difference between say L7 and L9 isn't that great, but in Borderlands it seems to be huge. Wander into the wrong fight and your shield can be gone in an instant. Just seems a bit bizarre that my weapons seem to kill things insanely quicker after leveling up.

Fighting those dog thingys is pretty hilarious as you can get caught out if you don't check their level, the weedy ones die from one bullet but it can take a couple of clips to bring down ones around my level.

Yup, just going up one level really makes too much of a difference.

I loved going into Old Haven where ever fight was a bloody struggle, not these 'bang bang move forward bang bang move forward' fights you get everywhere.

^I'm not suggesting it is, but the comment still stands. You've gotta admit that the game has similarities with those games in terms of genre type (FPS game with rpg elements like looting, skills, quests, npcs etc) and thus such comparisons are inevitable. The fact it has co-op multiplayer changes things a bit which makes it kinda like first person diablo with guns. But even Diablo 2 manages an OK storyline (Blizzard FMV - yummy!)

just playing it back through again, and just killed king wee wee not probs, but after killing you go in the room and theres the gun case and then some corrosive shock crystals that you shoot and they indicate that they are taking damage but after some proper abuse from some of my guns, nothing! has anyone stuck at it and destroyed them?

Anybody playing Borderlands over the weekend? I've a lvl 32 Hunter (Shaggyd) and a lvl 8 soldier (Sweaty Gonnards) if you are looking for a co-op buddy :)

Anyone playing The Secret Armory of General Knoxx?
Do you always appear at the start default location all the way through the game?

Picking up the game and wading through the start bit everytime is getting really boring.

Well the game is still keeping me hooked, the pursuit of loot is quite addictive. Now I've got items to regen my health and ammo it's a lot easier, although the problem with ammo regen is it removes the need to switch weapons to conserve it (meaning a bit less variety as I tend to stick with the same couple of guns 90% of the time).

A couple of annoyances:
-Increased magazine size seems flawed in that when you switch to a weapon often it isn't fully reloaded (has default capacity instead). It also causes problems with multishot weapons because if they normally fire a full mag, they don't anymore, meaning your second shot is much weaker (e.g. my triple rocket launcher now has ammo capacity 4, so it fires 3 rockets, and then 1 single one)
-The use key reloads if you don't have anything highligted, really annoying as it means I keep reloading when I don't want to (to be fair I haven't fully explored the options to see if this can be disabled yet)
-Quite a lot of backtracking, fast travel helps but even then the implementation is a bit flawed, often I can't recognise the name of the place I need to go to. It would be nice if on the fast travel screen it put some sort of icon to show which place is nearest to your current quest objective.

One question, with the DLC, does it matter what level you are (currently I've ignored it all while I am building up my character in case it is intended for high level chars who have completed the game).

Are other games working? Tried re-installing? Have you changed anything/installed any updates recently?
Yeah all other games work fine, im not the only person with this problem. It started happening shortly after the Knoxx dlc. Been trying to figure out what changes i may have made, but so far I have no idea :(

I think the DLC levels the enemies based on what you begin them it at

Though I think they may have a base enemy lvl
