Bought a phone off eBay: would you say this is in "excellent condition"?

I wouldn't care at all about the dint and scratch on the back in terms of keeping the phone (I'd want a partial refund) but the scratches would stress me out completely. I'd need a full refund from that.

Don't even contact the seller first, start a dispute on paypal and kindly inform the seller afterwards. If he tried to do you once, he will try and wriggle out of it.

Deliver it back from whence it came, ideally using 2 big Polish bruisers with bats. Mail me if you want their number :D

Yeah you're right, I'm usually much more careful but tracking down a 32GB Nexus 5 is really tough so I suppose when I saw this as excellent I wanted to just buy it and hope for the best. Very foolish really.

Not foolish at all. Zero risk to the buyer when buying off ebay via paypal - if you're not happy with the condition, just return for a refund.

In fact, I can't think of any scenario safer for buying a used phone. Even seeing a phone in person and paying cash has it's risks (ie. what happens if it dies a week later - no refund in that scenario but would be via ebay/paypal).

Probably chancing that a lot of. People wouldn't go through the hassle of sending it back.

Looks excellent in that dodgy advert with the **** low res pic, I really don't know what you're moaning about. :p

Send it Back !!!

The back abrasions i could live with.

The scratches on the screen are unnaceptable.

Definitly not "excellent" condition.

Never normally have any troubles with eBay but this is seriously making me reconsider it ever again.

One bad purchase that you have only just started to resolve is making you reconsider even using Ebay again, despite never having had trouble before? Mmkay.

As the buyer you are fine, you will get your money back even if the seller is an arse. Then leave him negative feedback for good measure.

Who in there right mind buys a mobile phone when it show only the back?

I cant understand some people.

Now raise a SNAD with paypal, send it back (must get a signature) they you get your dosh back

Next time look at feedback he has negs, that would make me run.

Should have looked in the Mobile forum. You could get a nice brand new chinese phone which is better than a Nexus 5 for the same price.

"Excellent condition" has no legally recognised meaning.

Paypal claim based on Significantly Not as Described is possible for paypal based purchases. The test for SNAD is at the discretion of PP.

For £170 send it back. Excellent means that the screen should be mint.

Just dive straight in with a not as described ebay thingy.

Personally I would have emailed them the following 2 questions - Is it in mint condition and are there any known faults? Then buy it if the answer is mint, no. If it isn't mint and if there are faults you have every right to complain.

Ebay will refund you.
