Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

You guys have missed the point of that post! (should have been taken with a sense of jest :p).

I don't ever plan to sell, but if I ever did for whatever reason, then that would likely be in long distant future where even fewer half decent condition E46s remain on the roads, categorised or not. Exceptional condition examples with full documentation would still hold strong value all the same, even if it's a bit less due to being cat d.

Edit* I've spent a lot of money keeping it as such because that's how I like to keep my car, not because the next guy might benefit from it! For me, the cost is a non issue, if I want something doing then I'll just do it and then be happier with it.

How much u pay mrk?

134 with the tuition.

Tbf Robbie's M3 is very different to most Cat D cars in that he has lots of photos documenting both the damage and the extremely high quality repair. What puts me off about Cat Ds is that with 99% of them you have no idea what damage the vehicle has sustained and to what standard it has been repaired to, which isn't the case with his car. Of course, it'll still affect the value but I bet he'd still get good money for it if he ever was to sell.

by saying "you never plan to sell" I assume you're planning to simply keep it for "unknown" amount of time? and possibly buy a 2nd car if you feel like it?

I agree with geekman as far as cat D goes, if it's well documented and done to a high standard I don't see an issue with it.

Yup I'll just get an EV to sit alongside it once the time comes where I need a daily driver.

Yes, which is precisely my point, you'd be mad to spend anything above 10k on an e46 m3 unless you're buying a CSL. 35k is above 10k.

My M3 Cab has only 55k Miles, Fully loaded Individual on the 06 plate. Has no problems whatsoever and i only drive it in nice weather. Purchased for 13.5k in April 2016 and i have no plans to sell it, happy with my purchase;)

Surely a Tesla ? ;)

What do you recommend for interior cleaning and leather? Something to keep the matt look?

I'll ask my friend Matt... :D

- Poorboys World Natural Look Dressing for non-leather interior trim.
- Gliptone Leather Cleaner/Preserver for leather every now and then to keep dust which builds up into grime out of the leather pores as best possible and keep an OEM satin lustre.

On the lower areas of the interior such as kick plates I actually use Mr Sheen as that gives a nice finish and rain doesn't spot it all up like it does on the natural look dressing.

To add, couldn't recommend Judy from http://lttleathercare.com/ enough.

I'm finding a lot of kilen springs, what's difference with these and ecp ones?
Also can I use the e46 springs? Or do they have to be e46 m3 springs?
What about convertible vs coupe as convertibles are heavier so would a convertible need a different stronger set of springs?
I cannot find the Sachs anywhere, tried europarts but couldn't see them after putting my reg in.

Thanks for helping

Just phone Cotswold Cheltenham and get a quote with forum discount. Springs are not expensive, so will be low either way.

The coupe vs convertible springs are the same.
