Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

Take the Insignia and £25 a day. Sounds like a total bonus - it'll propel you around in the same way as the E Class will which for a temporary car will be just fine.]

I would estimate this being a 2-3 week repair - at 3 weeks you are looking at 500 quid!

You'll get your beloved manual too :D

This may be a daft question, but would taking a downgraded car which costs the insurers less per day perhaps reduce the chances of the car being written off on the grounds of overall costs?

So long as you get a decent spec level of insignia you should be ok. Think SRi or better has most of the toys. I had an estate one for 3-4 weeks over the summer and it was fine.

just spitballing but if you take no car and the £50 a day then hire something cheap like a fiesta on your own.

I doubt he could hire a Fiesta at zero notice with an open ended return date for under £25 a day. And it'd need to be quite a bit under £25 a day to be worth the bother.

Hmm that's an interesting question, but it's a no brainer to go the £25 option either way. As Fox has said, I can just then go to swap the car over, and pick the highest spec one in their lot as they will all be under the same class group anyway

The Admiral guy will call me back tomorrow lunchtime so will take that option then, and swap over on the way home.

he said they'd be prioritising my case. How much this matters I have no idea.
That's what they all say, it's typical sales speak
Last time I heard it, it took 8 months to get a replacement iPhone after being hit whilst cycling.

can pick up a ford focus tommorow till the 30th for £347. roughly £16 per day.

Imagine £25 a day for 8 months :o

Without fully inclusive zero excess insurance. And no refund for early return. He's got no idea when his car is ready, it just isn't worth the bother for a whole 9 quid a day, and that's if he is lucky.

true about the excess. im sure he could shop about, that was me just going to thrifty. he would be earning £34 per day.

No, he'd be 'earning' £9 a day because they've already offered a better car than a Focus sourced himself, fully insured, with no hassle or faff and £25 a day.

So why would you say no and then faff about renting your own Focus to save at most £9 a day, probably less when you factory in excess insurance etc?

You cant ignore the offer of a fully insured Insignia at an effective benefit of £25 a day though when considering the other options. If the Insignia wasn't there I'd agree with you, but it is.
