Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

The rechargeable torch socket in the glovebox, just insert the ground wire into the ground socket at the back of this.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Any chance you could get a picture?
Also what fuse no. did you tap into?

Hmm sure I replied to this already? Fuse 4 was free for me, yours might be different. It's also one that gives power on ignition so was perfect.

As for earth, wedge and secure the brown wire into the brown wire socket of the torch recharging socket right side of the glovebox. Taking a pic is not possible without dismantling my glovebox :o but it really is straight forward once you have your glovebox out.

Just purchased one of these in LeMans Blue, 53k miles FSH etc £13.5k

Pics please!

Haha no I got ignored :(

Ok I'll have a look, cheers

Heres mine, only had it since Sunday. Its the June 2006 model, all models ceased production in August 2006. Its a BMW Individual and is fully loaded with everything, TV freeview, Sat Nav, heated seats, etc etc

Only had it since Sunday, the last picture was taken at work yesterday.

Yes it has individual on the door sills, it was £55k i think 10 years ago.
Front rim is scuffed on the driver side, can get them refurbed diamond cut but need to save some money for that.
Also passenger side there is a small dent at bottom of door about 3 inches in length.

Looks very nice! I can't imagine such light coloured leather being easy to keep marks away from though, I find Imola red hard enough to keep clean as it is :o

Yeah there is more wear on the front seats that the pictures show, however its 10 years old so bound to be. I love the car though. Said i was going to use it as a weekend car and just use my peugeot 206 for work. So far i cant stop driving it ;) Forgot to say its a manual also.

Whats the 10 year subframe warranty i hear about mrk?
By the way black one you have is mint mate!

BMW told me last year it's not really a warranty as such, but a goodwill gesture that they sort it out if yours has cracks. of course mine had and still has no cracks and my 10yr period has passed.

Come to the southern meet btw, need more M3 m8s :D

Another lovely m3!

Just roll on some more sunny days, I took the family out in the cotswolds on the weekend, absolutely loved it!

Still refreshing and perfecting the small stuff, I've just got some silicone lubricant for the window seals I have a small mouse in mine, and replacing the wheel bolts which are a mix of types (will ditch the locking wheel nuts, they seem to be more hassle then they are worth).

Just seat returb and head unit to sort then the front bumper for stone chips and I think I'm there!

Don't do this, he is just trying to sell you an Eventuri. Bloody salesman :o

Never! The noise sells itself :p Speaking of which, the guy that drove my car to deliver it to me today said the noise was turning heads on the drive up.

The little things are what bother me most, stuff like the seat bolster getting scuffed as mechanics get in and out at the garage after an MOT/service etc leaving a nice black rub mark on the bolster, they're never the kind of folks who have time to take care getting in and out of a car and I guess they're used to it given the condition of most of the cars they see on a daily basis. My place use plastic seat covers of course, but those covers may as well not exist as they flap over so easily and don't stay in place.

I've just spent the last 2hrs recolouring the bolster again, but as mentioned a while back, I needed the semi-matte superseal finisher to be applied anyway so was waiting for an opportunity like this to come up so I can get to work. can't drive it tonight as it has to cure over night, shame :p

That one is quite high price! Or have these started to go up? Mine was 13k with only 2900 more miles in 2014, and that was deemed expensive by some :o

Anyhow, one quick and easy mod I can highly recommend for the convertible is one touch power windows up. It involved chiselling away the notch on the window switches that stop the rear windows from auto winding up when you pull up the switch. You just then have to code in the power windows up in the smartphone app and you're set.

Keep an eye out for one of the southern meet threads, if we go to the same one I'm happy to do whatever coding you need
