Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

I have the Navall 3 at the top of my list for the following reasons (and feel free to correct me)

- Intel Quad Core 1.8Ghz (As far as I know, the Intel CPU's are very speedy, the kids HUDL 2's are intel 1.33Ghz quadcore and fly)
- 2GB RAM - very welcome for responsiveness
- UK Support (and have emailed me back when inquiring pretty much straight away)
- Have a nice compact reverse camera that fits the convertible bootlid nicely
- Android 5.1.1 is in testing and will be released shortly for it

Ah yes I completely forgot about the Navall unit. Alright it's settled then thanks :D

I take it Navall have the Play Store and Google Account services out of the box so no need to sideload those?

Yes, they confirmed it had the play store on it so could use any android app..

Might be worth dropping them an email if you have any questions, it is a touch more expensive (£360) although for me at least, the extension cables are only £25 from them.

Yes mrk that's the exact listing that I bought it from. I've had it since July 2015.

I have now bought a SIM card dongle thing and inserted a Three data SIM card (200mb a month for free) which is good enough for me as I only need the internet for album art and traffic when using TomTom. So now I don't need to tether using my phone any more.

Boot time is about 30 seconds from cold, and you can set it to sleep when the key is removed (up to 2 hours) for instant boot.

Let me know if you want to know anything in particular or if you want me to video any certain functions.

EDIT: that navall looks good but I don't think I can live with that tacky interface that they have going on. With the Erisin it's stock android which looks much better imo.

Plus for some reason the navall has the mini usb at the front. Does it have extra slots at the back too? The Erisin has two at the back ( I have routed one to the glovebox and I'm going to route the second one as a phone charger in the arm rest.

Is the sim on contract or just a pay&go data sim with 200MB free? I don't mind tethering my phone as I have unlimited data, and currently it tethers over bluetooth, so happens automatically when the phone connects to the headunit for music/phone etc.

I guess both units are very good, but the Navall is specced a bit better and has local support and confirmed that 5.1.1 is coming too.

Nope I literally ordered a free data SIM, registered it and that's it lol.

Also see edited post above.

Yeah gotta say, looking at the screenshots the stock interface of the Erisin is much more professional, especially stuff like the navbar and phone app. As long as it runs the new Waze smoothly as well as Google Maps with satellite layers, that's mostly what I care about! The homescreen is gonna be binned on either unit for me, Nova Launcher with a clean simplified layout.

Yeah, I did plan on using a different launcher on the navall, and hopefully the news android auto is coming to the play store is very welcome!

Yes that news was one other factor to why I figured there's no point waiting and paying more for an Android Auto unit when it can run on all androids soon anyway with the same features as them

I'll go for the Erisin I think based on the cleaner Android SystemUI.

that car launcher is so 2002 ;) tbh I'd go with navall..

mainly for newer android(soon) 2gb ram etc..!

homescreen is easy to change!

I've already ordered the Erisin :p

I'll see how Waze runs on it as well as Satellite maps. If it's not as speedy as I had hoped, then will return it and order the Navall. The SystemUI isn't something that can be changed without root on these things, so the cleaner UI is welcome for me. The car mode launchers have some nice features, but ultimately no point paying for them when Android Auto will hit the Play Store soon and is free.

run fine on my rock chip 1gb ram eonon! only annoying thing is that the default player is the one that plays music at the best sound quality.. even poweramp with EQ on doesn't sound as good :/

My music will be streaming from phone via Bluetooth, so alt apps are a no go since nothing else other than an OEM app can play music via Bluetooth from another device.

You will find that it's the other way round when these units. Night and day difference with poweramp

Quite excited to be honest, finally being able to run the latest apps is going to be very ideal. And keeping in-line with the OEM NAV head unit looks too.

Anyway, to sidetrack a bit, coloured my brown nuts black. Just the locking nuts as the rest are all new anyway.

Brown nut...
