yes, but surely you can get 120bhp from an 1.8 WITHOUT the turbo?
Then you have the cost of engineering a seperate engine in the range.

Does this impact the purchasing decision of someone looking for a car that comes with a 1.8L 125 HP engine?

that's the thing though.
You DO NOT need to develop a new new engine from scratch. you just take the turbo out from the standard one and throw in a different map (which you have to do in both cases anyway)
Boy Racers will be like they are no matter what car they drive, its all about driving style.
I call it heavy right foot syndrome others might call it driving a nob.
But can you go without the enjoyment of a fast car? Is the seats the main reason you want something different? You shouldnt be bothered what people say at work either.
Getting something slower than what i have now is unthinkable for me, but people change and get bored of a certain style or image or driving.
You might want slower and luxury now instead which has a foot rest instead of your foot hovering over the clutch pedal ready for the next gear change.
Ive always wanted to try a car with cruise control though...
You seen anything you wanted to test drive yet? whats the depreication like on those Corsa's?
The whole work and seats comment is just couple of reason. I just want something that is a lot more laid back.
The corsa is a decent car (comes with cruise control, hill start and a few other bits and bobs). Its just part of an image that I'd like to try and put to rest now..... Along with the ride quality and general feel of the car.
The rough ride, loud exhaust (pops/bangs)... Just want a nice smooth ride now. I believe I'm ready to sacrifice the aggressive performance figures and inhumane ride quality for something a little more soft/smooth. I think I miss the arm rest from my RX8 lol!
No, I havent spotted anything I'm really fond of yet. I'm sure I'll find something soon.
Obviously you know best mind eh ?
Yeah, I was pretty suprised with some of its standard option. I'm pretty sure my mate had to pay extra for his hill start for his TT lol!
Lets put it this way... I'm trying NOT to put speed at the top of my priority list.
Heck if money were no object I'd probably end up with something like an M5!
because you have to be a rocket scientist to get 120bhp from an 1.8 in 2011 when Vag managed that more than 10 years ago with their 1.8 NA 125bhp 20v...
I was just asking a question.Wasn't my point, just stating a fact.
Okay, I know this is going to sound strange but someone recently suggested the S3.
Yes its a hatch but its a more subtle hatch and I'm pretty sure theyre offered in sportback form too?!
Anyone ever owned one?
