Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

Really? Ted's awesome. Gary Anderson is soooooooo dull. OK so he knows more technical stuff, but has the TV charisma of a beer mat.

This is the key thing for me too. People seem to eager to dismiss Ted because he wasn't an engineer, ignoring the fact that to be a TV presenter you actually need skills as a TV presenter. Teds passion for F1 is infectious.

Much prefer BBC team.
I find it funny, cringy and very informative with some innuendo for good measure
I find the sky coverage nneither funny or technical, only bit I sometimes like is sky pad. (for both the girl and the content)

If I have the choice.. Bbc

The pre and post race stuff on Sky is crap, that's a given, but I stopped watching most of that years ago.

For me its all about the track action coverage and Sky is so much better than Ben "shout at everything like I want to be Leggate" Edwards and D "I'm in the BBC so I must be impartial on everything" C. Gary could be talking about something brilliant but I would still prefer to listen Ted making engine noises.

Hmm. I know its only P1, but when you take the tyres into consideration it definitely looks like the pecking order is RBR, McLaren, Ferrari, which is not what Alonso needs.

Surely Ferrari's only hope is to gamble on a wet race and just totally set the car up for the wet to the detriment of their qualifying (assuming qualy is dry).

Well, realistically with them saying there is a 100% chance of rain on Sunday, the gamble would be setting up for a dry, even if qualifying was wet, and pray for a dry race rather than the other way around.

But lets say its going to rain, and Alonso gambles and goes for a slow set up, if it starts wet, then they all get to change tyres anyway don't they, and while they might have less downforce, Alonso could be so far back with comprimised qualifying that no amount of good starts will help him. Even if Vettel DNF's, he's still got to be very high up the grid. Alonso can't afford to gift qualifying away. If it starts off dry, then rains, then Alonso will likely be painfully far back by the time rain happens.

If it starts off wet but drys off, Alonso is boned also. Basically with the chance of rain being stated, the vast majority aren't going to go for a perfect dry set up anyway, most of the grid will play it safe, and so will Vettel, because he has a car that eats everything but the Mclaren alive anyway, he doesn't need the fastest car in the dry to win the title, so he can afford to go high downforce, wetter setup and even if it doesn't rain, that car is capable of qualifying on the front row and doing well in the race.

If Vettel doesn't DNF< I can't see Alonso winning it(unless Vettel gets damage in a collision), if he does DNF, Alonso has to have a car competitive enough to get 14 points, throwing qualifying won't get him anywhere.

Alonso needs a lot to go right this weekend, needs vettal to break down, needs to be fast, needs to not crash while he's being fast.

Maybe Vettals pride will make him push too hard but if he keeps calm he should just bring it home.

I find myself in the odd position of wanting an Alonso win.

1 4 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:14.131 33
2 1 Sebastian Vettel Red Bull Racing-Renault 1:14.140 0.009 35
3 2 Mark Webber Red Bull Racing-Renault 1:14.198 0.067 34
4 3 Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes 1:14.217 0.086 31
5 5 Fernando Alonso Ferrari 1:14.392 0.261 28
6 6 Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:14.716 0.585 29

Sorry for the formatting... But...

Half a second covering the top 6? A quarter of a second covering the top 5? And rain? That would be awesome :)

What is the weather forecast now? Has anyone got an hour by hour forecast. I can't remeber what website I used to use, which actually listed all the f1 tracks and had hourly weather forecast or was it two hourly.

Managed to watch p1, still can't believe its last race :(
