Lewis won't care, he loves Brazil and it's people and will do it again and again if he has the chance..

Sarcasm :p

People have been analysing the max move on Hamilton. You don’t even need to see the steering wheel (which is really dodgy how the footage has just disappeared by the way), but his front wheels just stop steering mid corner. Amazing it wasn’t investigated.

Surely someone somewhere has his onboard footage. And then Mercedes will have it. And if he does steer Lewis off then they'll be asking for it to be investigated again. Which would be rightly so, otherwise a dangerous precedent could have been set today.

I imagine the engine wear on that new engine has to be higher than any normal weekend.

Any hopes that Lewis will storm to the front from 10th in the next race is wishful thinking. If Merc are happy to take a grid penalty, then they may want to change the engine at the next race so they’ve got 2 fresh units for the remaining 3 races tho.

Why would he need to? He will qual on pole.

Yup, I'd rather Lewis won but I wouldn't begrudge Max if he's the champion at the end of the season.

Agreed. They’ve both been mighty.

It must exist somewhere? The footage disappears, Mercedes rear wing disappears. It’s all looking a bit suspect. The biggest problem is that the FIA are enablers off Max’s behaviour, you can pretty much only overtake him on the straight. It’ll end in tears one day and we’ll all say, we told you so.

How tf did Max not get a penalty for that I’ll never know. He was nowhere near making the corner himself so I cannot see any argument for how he didn’t force Hamilton off the track.

Still, Hamilton got the win and keeps the championship close.

even if they could appeal it, the penalty is likely to be 5 seconds. This has zero impact on the final result so there is no point.

It would drop him behind Bottas, right? That's more dropped points!! It would almost certainly have an effect on the wider championship given how close things are!

Feels extremely suspicious that the onboard has disappeared. But despite that, surely the steering telemetry is available....?
I hate all this conspiracy crap. But even I'm left thinking something stinks after this weekend. I mean, Merc overcame everything thrown at it this weekend and still came out on top. But still... I feel absolutely ridiculous even saying it but I cant shrug that feeling of manipulation in the background.

Kind of feel they're glad Lewis got passed and the incident will be forgotten about in a few days time. If he hadn't and whatever came out showed Max pushing him off there would have been a massive **** storm.

As for the onboard footage seems to have disappeared into the ether…

And yeah they didn’t have the onboard footage but just decided not to bother investigating anyway….

Was Perez within 10 seconds of Verstappen? Thinking about the penalty Hamilton got for a similar action (although, Verstappen got bumped off the track on that occasion)

Sets a strange precedent - cover the inside and just make sure you brake second and the track doesnt matter?

Guess he gets away with it as Lewis was braking late too and didn't stay on the track, if there was contact maybe they'd go for causing a collision.

If I were Hamilton, I'd be very tempted to take a new engine every race from now on.
I would too, although I bet the FIA would introduce a rule to prevent a tactic going forward.

Personally, I think the penalty for each new unit should ascend if they truly wish to stop people using more than the allocation.

+1 extra engine: 5 place grid drop
+2: 10 place grid drop
+3: pit lane start

Just to add another voice, how did Max not get a penalty for that BS?

Pretty good race anyway, It'd be worse if Hamilton hadn't got passed and disappeared anyway but still. Really wasn't expecting Merc to be able to compete but instead they had the best car, so still in it at least, good times ahead :)

The same guy that voted Mexico a 10... Says all you need to know :p

I think it would be a risk taking multiple new engines. Qatar will be a snooze fest I suspect with minimal overtaking so track position will be king.

Who knows what Saudi will be like, maybe I’d chance it in Abu Dhabi then use the extra grunt and DRS on the long straight.

But yeah I think that engine rule will be changed for next season! I don’t think gaming it for tactical gain was intended. Not entirely sure why it went from 10 place after the first one to 5 place for subsequent ones? Surely the other way round would have made more sense! 5 place for your 1st extra then 10 for the rest if your engines are that unreliable.

They changed it when you had the likes of Mclaren taking grid drops of 70 places. It very quickly meant that the least changes were punished so harshly that you might as well go the whole hog and change everything, subverting the point of saving money though minimising engine changes. It also made the sport look a bit ridiculous and teams started stockpiling whole engines.
