There could have been more radio, but when Max overtook Perez, it wasn't clear he was being let through. Horner just told him to go take points off Leclerc.

It was pretty clear if he couldn't overtake give the checo the place back at the end , clearly heard on the radio

Good effort trying to defend him

Haha Max is the gift that keeps on giving, that'll come back to bite him in future no doubt! Great win for George finally! Merc has got some top speed finally and they were able to take the fight to RBR all weekend.

Was that some sort of fight in the crowd then?
Its probably an altitude thing again, although to as high as Mexico, its historically been a factor here. I dont think they have shifted the "draggyness" of the car yet. I dont expect them to be as fast in Abu Dhabi.

Lol, have a chip on your shoulder?

None of what you said was what Horner said, on the broadcast radio

There was a simple radio message that said Max will give him the place back if they are next to each other at the end

[Edit] It was said on the radio to Perez when he was passed

That was to Perez from his engineer.

Am I watching a different race to everyone?

Again, please read my post clearly before criticising it with something that does not contradict it.

George will also beat Lewis in the WDC this season. He was more consistent in the first half of the season making all the difference.
He was consistent as he had the same car every race.

Lewis had a different car every race as he was testing a d developing the car.

If Lewis had not done that, George would not have won yesterday or today, as car would still be carp, like it was at the start of the year.

Perez pit radio - So Max will let you through

Perez - Yeah, thank you for that guys. Thank you.

Horner - Sorry about that Checo

Pit - We'll debrief everything afterwards.

Perez - Yeah, it shows who he really is.

Did you read my post that you replied to? What is going on here...

Verstappen pit radio - Max. Let Checo through please.

Pit - Max. What happened?

Verstappen - I told you already last summer. You guys don't ask that again to me. Ok? Are we clear about that? I gave my reasons, and I stand by it.

That confirms he had enough time

Are you trying to defend max he wasn't told in advance enough time ?

Yes, he was told that if they were still in line he’d have to swap back.

Great race… chuffed for George and Mercedes today. They had a great car this weekend, so hopefully they continue that for Abu Dhabi and it wasn’t just a perfect storm of setup and RB poor on the mediums.

Hamilton may have had the pace to win today if he hadn’t collided with Max but we will never know. The SC came at the right time for him and actually negated a large part of the time lost from the collision, so can’t be too disappointed.

I don’t want to blame Max but it seemed (to me) that he threw it up the inside in an attempt to make the move and just had nowhere to go.

Danny Ric has to win the pleb of the week award though. If his stock wasn’t already down, he just found a new way to **** the bed when he needed it most.

Max showing his true character once more. A stupid overtake attempt, the “you move or we crash” special, and disobeying team orders at the end. To Perez of all people, who helped him win the championship last year, arguably the reason he won it as Hamilton having the pit gap would have made everything moot.

Of course Max is the golden boy though so I expect nothing will come of this and it’ll be another Multi21-esque blow over.
