Earlier in the season people said max matured when fighting it out with Charles
I genuinely thought he had improved and I’ve posted multiple times this year to say that I thought he’d mellowed and matured.

He’s come across much better in interviews this year and his driving has been much better. However what he’s just done totally negates that and the real Max is showing himself again.

Max drives like I do on computer games. Send it up the inside far too fast and use competitor cars as my brakes! :p

Max was never going to legitimately make that move, and he just went with bully boy tactics.

Lewis had a real chance of P1 today but evidently his race was seriously compromised. George did an excellent job all weekend and thoroughly deserved the win. I think if Merc have a competitive car next season, they will have a dominant driver pairing.

Not sure what Max was on about re Perez, but I think he owes quite a lot to him and his team, so he should just be quiet and do what he is told given the team pay his wages.

As I suspected his more moderated behaviour has been simply to try and improve his image and has been mistaken for maturity. When it comes to the crunch, Max can’t help but show his real colours and unfortunately today he **** on the entire team. At the point a driver feels they are bigger and more important than the team, it’s never going to end well for them.

A second person has just earned a thread ban from this race discussion and the next one. This warning has been posted at the start of the last six or so races.

Just a reminder, but consider it a pre-warning - can we not have any further derogatory name calling of drivers, team bosses and the like. We don't expect you to like every driver/team, but at least keep comments respectful.

If you don't follow this warning, you will lose access to this race thread and the thread for the following race as well.

This includes but is not limited to such terms including Lulu, Crashstappen, Karen Horner, Whingey Spice etc.

Perez interviewing for the latin media

Interviewer: At the end they asked Max if he could give you the position, he was fighting with Alonso and he didn’t go through. Would it have been correct of him to do it?

Checo: Yes I’m very surprised, I don’t know what happened even after everything I’ve done for him. I don’t understand his reasons, and I’m very surprised. I think that if he has two championships is because of me.

But But... Horner really does bring it on himself! Such an easy target!

Honest question! Do people really get so upset? I mean obviously it happens enough that people report posts so much that it triggers Mods to put the warning out, but seriously people get that upset about this...
Ok I guess! Not questioning the decision to ban the use of derogatory names more the fact that people get so triggered about it!

So pleased for GR, fully deserved the win, what a weekend for him and the merc team.

Can’t work out why max thinks he owes SP nothing, as has been pointed out Sergio fought hard for him many times. I had hoped Max had grown up this season, he had shown signs of maturing but that was pretty much like a child stamping his feet.

Roll on next season, let’s have a few more weekends like this please.

Yes, it makes threads a nightmare to moderate. Especially as the mods that look after the threads (including me) tend to be F1 fans, and the more we let go, the harder we have to work whilst trying to enjoy the race.

If you want to discuss it, please raise a discussion in FCD.

It's something we have come to after many years of doing this, not just a whim, or knee jerk decision.

Name calling is infantile and derails a thread. After the antics of last season, it became excessive and used to deliberately wind up the fans of those drivers (RB, Mercedes or otherwise)

Not at all, I'm not trying to be difficult, it just surprised me that this was a genuine issue. Obviously as a general user of the forums, I dont get to see these issues. It just surprised me that this sort of thing causes so much agro for the Mods.

Fair enough i see your point. If people have grievances with a particular driver/team its much more effective and mature to just to air it out as is!

Seeing the circuit in the sun with the fans all in good spirits... Makes me remember how much I love Interlagos. I'd love to go back as a spectator rather than working it.

I just don't want to have to deal with Sao Paulo.

Great race. I personally feel Max was hard done by to get a penalty for the incident with Hamilton.

Regardless of if you're a Max fan or not, what he did to Perez is unacceptable after everything Checo has done for him, especially last year. Completely unnecessary.
