…Of all the races to miss. Had to help my Dad clear out his storage and the pub we booked wasn’t showing it, lol :(

Only watched the snappy Sky highlights so feel like I might have missed some talking points. Sounds like Perez is (rightly) very peeved about not getting the free place? Did they actually ask Max to swap and he said no?

Great drive by George, I was pretty worried after the last SC he was going to lose it at the end. I definitely wanted him to get the win rather than Lewis this time around.

Don’t need to say anything about the Lewis/Max incident. Good on Lewis for standing up to Max’s usual tricks.

Although I don't have the coverage, people on Twitter that do say Max was asked four times on the final lap to give Perez the place and did not reply every time.

What the heck is it to do with Red Bull, if Perez did do it then that's on him.
He told Horner he did it on purpose.... you know the Team principal head of RB racing responsible the teams culture and he allowed Perez to go unpunished for it.

Now what if a whistle blower goes to the FIA and confirms Max's story and the telemetry does look suspicious what do you think the FIA would do

I think Max needs to be careful, there are enough drivers who could happily take his place and get the same results for Redbull. Obviously RB are fine with this dynamic at the moment but if their car is still a rocket ship next year and young talents like DeVries, Russell, Leclerc, Norris of the world are available they could decide they don’t want the Verstapen baggage anymore and look elsewhere.

He could literally only look good letting Perez through for the extra points but for whatever reason decided to take the, “Look like a sausage” route. If Horner is as amazing as he thinks he is he should show them who’s in charge and come out and say Max is a sausage and no one is bigger than the team. I mean Toto threatened to bench Hamilton and Rosberg publicly after some of their coming togethers! :D There’s no doubt he’s a great driver, an exceptional driver infact. But he needs to get a handle on the red mist.

It's not even 100% confirmed so how'd you know whether Horner 'didn't punish' him?

And do you really think Horner is going to run to the FIA and tell on his own driver. Get real. This is F1 not a nunnery.

This was a rumour from a Dutch journalist just saying

Damn, Max lost a lot of fans today.

I think the Monaco thing is just a banker excuse he's brought up to try to justify a poor decision.

No chance, if anyone gets pumped out of Red Bull its Perez, that team is basically Max F1 for as long as they have a fast car.

Yes and I imagine if Danny Ric hasn't already signed for the RB reserve role he's putting pen to paper right now as there might be a vacancy sooner than expected

What a race.

Very disappointed with MV on that one. Wasn't like he was giving up a win.
Like someone said, he lost a lot of fans (respect) for that one. Especially as perez has pulled over more than once for him.

Great recovery by alonso and Ocon, pretty much cements 4th!

Great race. Would have gladly watched that live!

Oh, and of course. Another riccardo blunder.

Dani Ric gets a 3 place drop for his last ever F1 race.

Alfa fined $1000 for their man being in the way of the Williams pit.

Yeah, I believe Max thinks it but I don't believe it actually happened for a moment. Pérez won that race, but he qualified 3rd, he didn't risk trashing his car and starting from the pit lane for a place higher on the grid. No way. And even if we indulge the fantasy he did it on purpose, the idea he'd have then told Horner and Helmut that he had done it is even more absurd.

Silliness from a second rate biased journalist writing in a tabloid, nothing more.

Voted this a 9. Certainly up there with Silverstone this year.
Think it had it all; shunts, safety cars, plenty of over-takes - and some good non DRS assisted ones - and a great race result.

Great race , well done George on your 2nd GP win . Great race this weekend and Max did himself no favours .

Have been saying this all along about George , debut season and beats a 7 XWC convincingly.

As with everyone else, I think Max's actions on team orders do show what a idiot he can be. It up there with Seb not refusing team orders with both Webber and with Danni Ricciardo, the later even after being told he was on a different strategy and Seb's reply was "tough luck".

Even Schumacher as ruthless as he was has yielded to teammates to help their cause.

haha, not sure about that. Lewis to me was the faster of the two, for one reason or another just didn't get the breaks. Sometimes that's how it goes. A few lucky SC, testing new setups to help the team etc.. That's the problem when people only look at points and not context. It's the same with the Ocon, Alonso battle.

I guess the Brazilians were threatened under gunpoint to vote for Lewis as driver of the day. Plenty of other drivers were more deserving than him.
Plus all the hypocrisy over Max defying team orders, not like it's happened before is it?
Short memories...
