What amuses me, are the people who are surprised/shocked by what Max did. I can only think they are terrible judges of character in life, generally.

Max is clearly not a very nice person.

An exceptionally fast F1 driver? Absolutely. A decent and hounorable human being? Absolutely not.

Something about apples springs to mind..

It's not even 100% confirmed so how'd you know whether Horner 'didn't punish' him?

And do you really think Horner is going to run to the FIA and tell on his own driver. Get real. This is F1 not a nunnery.

Just had an entertaining 5 minutes there imagining what an F1 season where every driver, pit crew and team principal was replaced with a nun. I would pay to see that. Imagine the nun version of Christian Horner.

Going over this thread after catching up with the races...

Ah, the butthurt from the Verstappen fans after the penalty was great to see :D

Feel sorry for Perez but also it's not gonna change anything, the team develop the car to be pointy for Max and Perez is nowhere when the car is like that, which works for the team and Perez does enough to get WCC and not challenge the number 1 driver so yeah...

Great result from Merc, considering how far behind they were early on to get a 1-2 on merit is pretty impressive. I think Russell had the pace to win even without Hamilton being crashed into by Max, not sure if Hamilton had much/any real damage but even still Russell has been fast all weekend.

Pretty good result from Ferrari too really, yes they've slipped behind Merc the past couple of races but they got a solid result which was probably enough to seal second in the WCC and gives Leclerc a shot at second in the WDC.

Perez should be odds on for P2 in the championship.

That aged well...

Just an extraordinary decision.

It is indeed extraordinary that Max gets penalised for causing crashes, he gets away with it so often.

Reading various forums and subs, I'm not seeing a single post from anyone who is standing up for Max, many people are posting saying "I'm a Max fan but....". He really is being panned by everyone for this.

I expect to see an interview from Jos soon saying how proud he is of Max

I voted this race a 9, if it hadn't been for that outburst, it would have been a 10.

Guess you're not reading this one then?:cry:

I don't know why anyone expects any sport person, celebrity etc to be nice or a decent human honestly. I don't know why anyone puts any stock in their views, opinions or actions on anything other than their area of expertise. Being wealthy and completely out of touch with most peoples lives and experiences doesn't tend to make for an empathetic or informed person.

Plenty are nice I'm sure but plenty come across as complete ***** as well. Max is very much a product of his father who is a complete scumbag.

Not sure what other team would take him on , imagine him in a lesser car in the mid pack

He would be banned after about 3 races.

So much for the "Max has matured a lot" thesis :D

In other news... you'd have thought the FIA would have figured out the SC restart procedure since that robbery last year but still they still managed to allow Tsnouda to restart in the middle of the pack. gg.

Well done George!

Just when I was starting to think Verstappen had grown up and mellowed somewhat, he makes two **** moves in one race. That he felt the need to **** on Perez and Red Bull by potentially costing them the 1-2 in the 2022 WDC having already secured his championship is a huge black mark against Verstappen for me.

We've already seen that, and he came together with his teamate on occasion. Don't think Carlos has many(any) nice things to say about him.
I love how Max is a special case here. Sooooo many drivers have driven aggressively, crashed into teammates, crashed into other people - Ham has done it multiple times in recent history.

This is pure copium if you don't think any of the teams wouldn't snap him up in a heartbeat if he became free. Christ even Mercedes wanted him.
Exactly. Any of the teams would happily take him on. 2 time WDC is great for marketing and he's one of the best drivers out there - rather him in their car than in a competing car.

Sounds like they forgot Tsunonda was in the race. I think most of us were in that camp at the time.

isnt just that is it , just how he comes across
How does he come across? This thing with Checo has been the first time in while he's been a child, but if there is some crashgate nonsense in the background then it's a different story.

People seem to forget insufferable other drivers were during their prime.

personally I'd give Lando a chance love to see what he can do with a competitive car

From a teams perspective, if they have the funds, it's a sure thing vs someone who has only been at McLaren. Look at Danny Ric; amazing at RB and Renault, but a dud at McLaren.

I still think Lando is a great driver and would love to see him in a better car.

I mean generally on the radio to the team and that scuffle with ocon, but its just my opinion
