BREAKING: Paris landmark, Notre Dame Cathedral, is on fire!

They’re used for fires over large areas, not fires the size of a big church. You’d only have a split second to dump it.
Also they take a lot more time to get ready and up into the air, as they don't just have them sitting at Paris Airport,

They'd have to be scrambled and flown in, which likely takes hours.
 
I presume a university or another institute will have detailed 3d mapping of the building?
 
My friend had me looking at destruction of heritage sites in Syria etc. The loss of ancient buildings through war and scum like ISIS makes this fire seem like a drop in the ocean.

(not saying the fire isn't horrendous though.)
