BRINK

Very bad FPS

Well I have Nvidia 480gtx and it is about 50 fps maxed out and it feels horrible.

Dropped the settings and it felt a bit better but still shows 45-50 fps

The is online no vsync. Really distracting how weird it feels... can only describe it like BC2 beta/demo that treacle/kind of rubber banding feeling :(

My 6970 is happily running at 80-120fps at 1920x1080. But the game doesn't actually feel smooth even though mouse controls seem precise and the fps is more than fine. Have to experiment more tomorrow but something was just a bit off with the responsiveness of the game. Loading maps takes literally less than five seconds so that was nice.

Anyway, I won't judge the game before I can put more time into learning to play it. Enemy Territory took a while to but I grew to love that game. Even went back to clan gaming for a while thanks to that game and ET:QW was always misjudged and the release poorly timed.

running with rig in sig and feel smooth as silk all settings max @ 1080 only done the challenges so far and unlocked almost all the weapon attachments but from the bot battles feels very tense good game play always feel like you've got a job to do guns feel a bit bland but only tried a couple but its looking good :D

oh how do i check my fps ?

Been following this game for a while, really on the fence with Brink. Reviews are generally mixed and getting reports that the games pretty stale and the parkour really is non-existent and the maps quite unbalanced. On the other hand being told is great fun and the videos I've seen it looks like a laugh and something different.

Anyone able to give a small user review?

Going into town tomorrow afternoon and may pick it up.

Argghhh decrypting and crashed and rebboted at 51%, dunno if it's working or not as it's been at 54% for a while now.

I managed to get a quick game going this morning, must admit I enjoyed it a lot. Not sure how long I'll play it for but it's defiantly cool. I didn't appear to have any FPS issues when standard however when starting to add fancy features etc it dropped to sub 30.

Now I'm normally really good at FPS games and I know there is no K/D in this but I was finding myself dying in seconds when having a shoot out with someone not sure why?

I created a cop type char and selected his weapons and I created a criminal but didn't do his weapons. Then I logged in to my cop char and joined a game and played as a crimal and just got wasted but then unlocked stuff on my cop char. But my main thing is out of all the guns I've got I chose the best stat one yet other people were raping me in seconds.

Who is MArk Potter ? his twitter page popped up while performing 1st time setup.

Lol??? Did you accidentally click my sig mate?

Apart from the crap FPS/unsmoothness, I'm really liking it. It's quite easy, I've been playing FPS for years now at a competitive level so it really is a cake walk, but its really fun! The parkour is good, you can't do it everywhere but its clear where you can do it, I haven't unlocked the light body type yet which can jump off walls and stuff which sounds fun.

The guns are ok, there aren't that many and they all seem kind of similar, but when I start unlocking attachments you can customise them quite heavily.

Looks wise, it looks nice. I had to disable all shadows to make it remotely playable, until they release a fix for the ATI cards (Which is soon I hope), but the realistic coupled with stylised works well.

Are most ATI users running the 11.5a hot fix? I know this specifically addressed some Brink issues.

Had a quick play this morning, seems ok, but will give it a proper go when I get in :)
