If the chinese sent an invasion force and they had the possibility of landing their army, i would hope the gov would set up a civilian defence force as a last resort.
I know i wouldnt want to sit idly by as 10,000 china men marched up my front street.
In any case, they probably would do strikes on british bases over seas before a main invasion.

Am sure the UK has stock piles of rifles, anti-tank weapons and land mines(or at lest the means to make them) to arm an army to match the likes of China. An invasion of the UK would be madness.

why would they want to invade? how many nations would they have to go through to get to that point?
germany nearly invaded us because they took most of europe and ended up on our doorstep. they literally had nowehere else to go on the western fringe of their attack.
aside from china sending boatloads of people half way around the world on troop transport ships or paradropping people to the UK how or why would they invade us?
yes but we may need help if they mobilise their reserves of 4 million or whatever it was.

But it's a particularly bad hypothetical argument. Unless anyone here has military/defence/foreign policy experience at a significantly high level. All comments will be based on Command & Conquer/Media/Random.

A hypothetical discussion on something that would never happen in the current real world?
How is anything said in this thread interesting? Are you the sort of person who gets off on wartime statistics? Most of the stuff said in this thread is either wrong, false or completely meaningless.
Might as well have a hypothetical discussion about what would happen if Hitler came back from the dead and became Der Fuhrer again.
There are a few with significant military experience to comment without relying on C&C or Wiki. Although in reality China would neither have the political or military will to invade and occupy the UK, it's interesting enough to point out why.

In fact, I thought of you when I wrote it. But I'm not entirely sure you have intimate knowledge of Chinese intents/military capabilities (unless you kept that promotion quiet). I didn't mean to be apathetic, it's just about as answerable as "Is there a God?" and other such meanderings.
