**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

Im going to apply for the Engineering technician (weapons engineer) tomorrow in the navy, anyone who has been there?
 
Complete tool, a lucky one at that.
Doubt you would see skills and drills like this in the British army especially infantry Units.

His description does say he was trying to draw fire away from his buddies. Can't really cast judgement from such a short snippet and lack of facts on the scenario.
 
I love reading the comments on Youtube. So much hate, so many COD players, so many extremists in training, and so many political experts. It's amazing, why would anyone ever need go to school, just read Youtube comments all day!

If for some reason I get to phase1 in three weeks (start oct 22) and I've magically put on weight and go over 28bmi and its fat not muscle, would they defer me?

From the outset he was a bit of a nobber, he is in clear sight of at least half a dozen prime sniper positions even from that little snippet...and he tries to move out into the open to draw fire??? he is a very lucky boy indeed.

WE, is a tabs out job. All they do is sit in the mess all day and wait for the can man to open up. The good thing about the branch at the moment is promotion is really fast. You can be a leading hand in 3 years if you have a bit about yourself.

Ah no reason mate was just wondering about scenarios.. as I know you have to be below 28bmi to complete selection or they defer you. Quit work in the run up to joining and thought.. wonder if I put on enough weight to go over 28bmi if theyd send me home on the first day.
 
I don't know tbh.

Just turn up the fittest you can get and the slimmest you can get.

Otherwise you will get issued massive kit and you will be wearing tents by the end of it. Not a good look.
