**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

Glad you enjoyed it mate.

Anyone got any advice for a device to take on tour? Needs to be able to play movies from a USB HDD and be portable. Im guessing a new gen droid tablet is best?

Odd question chaps but has anyone been through Alexander Barracks - Pirbright recently? Trying to find out if the gymnasium has free weights or machines?

Yes but not Army, will be MOD and get to use the gym so deciding if its worth keeping my gym membership or not.

Maybe the old Project I.G.I trick where your weapon reticule stayed aimed at the exact centre of wherever your binoculars were just aiming at. It was as simple as aim with binos, put binos away, get out pistol and shoot. I was handing out all kiiiiinds of 100m+ pistol headshots.

Oh god that game was amazing :D

Mine arrived the day after my discharge as well, if only the admin world were that organised and timely when you're actually serving.

According to my paperwork I went from.... Private - LCpl - Cpl - Cpl -SSgt - Sgt
So it now looks like I got promoted to Cpl twice. Skipped a rank. Then got bust :D

Congratulations dessimpson :) could I ask what your highlights were?

I had confirmation from my CSM that I can go forward for the role of metalsmith/ shipwright in the REME, big grin from me.

Well. I can tell you that the army screwing up and giving me the wrong leaving date has certainly not been the highlight of my career.
Could potentially cost me £250,000 of my pension because some idiot in Glasgow can't do his job. Waiting to find out the outcome

On a lighter note. My highlights were the 5 years I spent in Northern Ireland.
I loved it over there.
I also enjoyed my last tour, in Afghanistan, as my role was a little bit different to what I'm used to. Bit more exciting :)
