British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

The FIA should have nipped the vented exhaust exit bodywork thing in the bud when McLaren first turned up with it. It was always going to be something that changed and evolved until someone got it doing tricky stuff.

Either that or they should have stuck with the original plan for exhaust exits.
 
Might just go for the practice this year. I agree with Sparky. When I went to Spa last year I had a pretty good idea as to what was happening in the race as we were near a big screen and quite close to it.

Trouble with Silverstone is, if you sit at Becketts, which is arguably one of the best parts of any racing track in the world... the screen seems like its miles away, so without a kangaroo you can easily lose track of who is where on the track.

Put it this way, last year I was sat at Wellington bridge, the nearest screen probably was literally just over half a mile away near Luffield and when Jenson had his moment coming out of the pits I genuinely thought it was Hamilton until a few laps before the end of the race!

So this year I think I'm gonna get the best of both, go for Friday, for the noise and the sight of the cars and then watch qually and race from home.
 
A Fanvision helps, but its still easy to loose track of whats going on. More so if something happens and you don't know why. A few years back when Fisi stuffed his Renault into the barriers after Bridge and brought out the safetycar my sister was up at Club and had no idea why the SC was out until she watched the highlights the following day.

I still love being there though.
 
Not sure on weather yet, bit early for accurate forecast. And yeah Fanvision is a must if you see a race, its very good.
 
Fanvistion is fantastic, really good but we found last year the the timing is about 1.5 seconds behind. So this year we decided not to use it as we found our phone apps were a lot faster and intiming with the race its self, not as I say, 1.5 to 2 seconds slower.
 
Bought tickets from the bay. Friday only platinum abbey. Looking forward yo it!

Grandstand access unless I'm getting mixed up? Might be that anyone can get in the grandstands on Friday.
Looking forward to this, heading down to woodlands campsite on Wednesday and have tickets for Becketts.

Hope we get a bit of rain during on track action but nothing too prolonged!


Not getting fanvision this year, huge screen in front of the grandstand and aiming to pickup a radio for 5live.

On the Friday and Saturday it is roaming, the seat number/stand is only for the Sunday. Although some stands are restricted for sponsors etc so it might let you in one of those.
