British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

Really? why was there so many standing in GA areas in the rain with stands 3/4 empty and why are there guys on every entrance checking the tickets?

Nobody checked the tickets any time we went into a grandstand on Friday. Friday GA includes roving access to pretty much any seated area, apart from obviously the "special" ones like the BRDC grandstand.

People get caught short in the rain, I know we were walking around the infield when 2nd practice was about to start and it absolutely bucketed it down, however 5 minutes previously it was baking hot and we were eating food on a bench. In any case, it's nice to walk around the circuit.

One day tickets:

Friday: your ticket includes a roving grandstand seat.

Saturday: your general admission ticket includes access to the venue and viewing from any bank area.

Sunday: your grandstand ticket includes a reserved seat in an allocated grandstand. Your general admission ticket includes access to the venue and viewing from any bank area.

Yep.

1 day GA Friday tickets include Grandstand access.

3 day GA tickets don't. For grandstand access with a 3 day ticket you need it to be a Grandstand ticket.

Its to make the Friday only tickets more appealing.

I should add that the Friday GA tickets are for a selection of Grandstands - not all - and on a first come first serve basis.

Rain rain rain :)

Which will be good for us just going on the Friday as it'll mean there are plenty of cars on track unlike other weekends where its raining on the Friday and dry on the Sunday meaning less cars go out for irrelevant set ups.

True, but will you be able to see the track from the Santander press truck, in the main carpark ;)

the woodlands campsite gone to RED. meaning, ditch the car and carry everything on ya head.

SRC site is the same, but its much smaller so not so bad, they will let you take car to pitch (tow you in if needed) but not allowed to move the car once at pitch.

Feel sorry for those in Woodlands trekking all their gear to the pitch.

So where will everyone be at for Quali and then on the Sunday? Anyone else sitting in Becketts? Will give you a wave if you are hehe!

Where's the best place to try and head to for the race with general admission tickets then? Heading up for the first time this year and can't wait!
