British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

I totally forgot about Friday grandstand access so I've now contacted the seller to let her know I dont want them. You can sit in abbey with general admission. Id have been able to sit in the Vodafone part of it but I can't see why that would be worth the extra Id have paid

I was gonna say, the GA tickets for Friday that are still available at £60 each give you a roaming grandstand seat.

Will be turning up with most of the kit in my sig.
Last years pics are here

Had the Canon 450d last year so looking forward to seeing how the quicker burst fire and focus of the 40d fairs. Kinda wish I had more length - but then I'd just find it harder to hold the camera steady. I'm going down with matthab who I believe has hired a 100-400mm lens... Will be interesting to see how his shots end up like!

Really looking forward to this race.

Not at all jealous of the people going, just hope you get soaked.:p

Free tickets have arrived :D

Farm curve again this year, loved it last year on the Saturday but going for the Sunday and literally can't wait for the first lap... just hoping the seats are towards the pit end as it's a fantastic view down the pit straight and across the first few turns.

Thinking about renting a fanvision for the race. Vibe seems to be pretty good on them and I want to miss out on as little as possible.

Are these what the kangarooTVs have evolved into?

So I've just partaken in some skilled ebay dealings the past few days.

Initially bought a pair of Platinum tickets for Abbey Grandstand on the Friday at £160 (£166) including postage.

Then as you guys reminded me on here that you can sit in grandstands on Fridays I cancelled the deal with the seller, amicably.

I've been holding off seeing if I could get any decent deals since then and thought I'd missed the boat when a pair of GA Friday tickets went for £100 yesterday, saving me £30 that would have done.

Last night a pair of Platinum Friday tickets ( the same type ( but different seller) I'd won in the first place ) at £166. Well they went for £230!!!

Unbelievable. So today after some perusing I clicked on a pair which I thought were GA tickets, until I clicked onto them and read the description where they said 2x Friday Platinum tickets "guest of santander" including hospitality and goodies and the best seats" Buy it now £120.

So I'm feeling pretty damn good about that bit of ebay wizardry :D

She does state that there are goodies and hospitality but none of the other platinum tickets say anything like that so I think that's just sales patter. But still, great tickets for that price, even cheaper than the Friday GA ones which come to £130 the pair including booking fee.

I don't think GA gives grandstand access on Friday's.

Sounds like you have got tickets for the Santander stand and will get a hat :D

I think they probably do that to make the circuit look more "full" as well... though I could be wrong.
