British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

What interested me is the following quote from Horner:

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, meanwhile, says double world champion Sebastian Vettel has assured him he has not signed a pre-contract with Ferrari.

...

“I’ve also spoken to Sebastian about it, and he has made it quite clear he hasn’t had any dialogue and hasn’t signed anything with Ferrari, but I guess the rumour mill will always continue.

I'm not so bothered about myself, as we can just sit in a covered grandstand, but its the fact nobody will go out on track if its raining that's worrying :(

Do I take my Spa spec weather gear?

He did his job, he got him a drive on the F1 grid.

I'm hoping that this is a sign that Di Resta may be moving on to bigger and better things...

rumour has it hes going to mclaren to partner jenson button

Sensible bets are either there or Schumachers seat at Mercedes.

We should know in a few weeks when Merc decide on Schumachers future. Ross has said 'within 6 weeks'.

As soon as someone makes the first move in the tops teams, its all going to get very crazy very quickly! Can't wait! :D

merc are just waiting for schumacher to tell them wether he wants to stay or not.

i dont see anything from di resta that says he deserves a seat in a big team though

If Schumacher retires and Massa gets dropped, who else do you see from the current grid filling the 2 open spots at the top?

There may even be a 3rd if Webber retires.

I doubt it thats simple either. That mentality suggest that Merc think Schumacher is the best option they have, which is rubbish given that the market currently includes drivers such as Hamilton.

Has anyone seen this yet? It was just posted on the Codemasters F1 page.

Would be awesome if the safety car was a Tumbler just for this race eh..

Didn't they bring the black tumbler to Silverstone when a team joined up with Barman Begins, too?

Can't remember which team it was, but they drove the tumbler around the track.

I've read that Anthony Hamilton said Di Resta's CV is better than Sebastian's pre Formula 1. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if he joined a big team like Merc. Add to that the fact that he's done well since entering F1.

Hamilton should be pushing for titles against Alonso, Merc aren't even close to a top car yet(or both drivers would be doing significantly better), why on earth would Hamilton drop into a worse car? If it's because of mistakes his team are making, would Schumi's season so far really persuade Hamilton to go to Merc, into a slower car which is less reliable and the team have made mistakes?

If Hamilton didn't stay at Mclaren it will be to go to Ferrari or Red Bull. I can't see Schumi deciding not to continue, but for an odd move to Ferrari, I think it would be more likely Rossberg might get offered a seat at Red Bull or Ferrari if both someone leaves AND Hamilton doesn't take the seat.
