British Grand Prix 2012, Silverstone - Race 9/20

So if you get your car a little loose on the line and then hit someone who is next to you, you get fined? Hmm, where was Webber fine then when he hit Seb the other year?

Why on Earth would Webber get the fine for Seb driving into him? Presuming you are talking about Turkey here!

Than a 45 year old man with 1 podium in 3 years.... yep.

But I was thinking more along the lines of Hamilton or Massa or any of the young drivers they have. There are plenty of drivers in the market place that are both likely to perform better than Schumacher, and stick around longer.

I'd take Schumi over Massa any day :p

Bear in mind, it isn't just him. McLaren (and I'm sure they will have had 1000s of meeting and committees to decide what the best procedure for deciding the strategy is), have decided that the strategy team are the best people to decide on the strategy. If you notice, even Button has fallen into line with this way of thinking.

Believe me this hurts me saying this "aloud", but Im wondering if this is because the car has been under-performing for Button for a considerable amount of races.

I wonder IF the car gets the updates it needs, and they work to push the team much further up the grid for JB (in particular, as Lewis apart from last weekend, is qualifying well anyway) whether he will have more of an influence on his strategy again

(I dont believe this is answerable yet, we will have to see - but either way it goes it will be interesting to find out)

because hes in a care thats capable of regular podiums

did u see valencia? schumacher held of webber for pretty much the whole race even though the RBR is clearly a better car.

if webber can win still so can schumacher when hes given a car capable of doing so.

You mean when Vettel moved across the track and wiped himself out on Webber? How that incident was Webbers fault is a mystery to me, and it really isn't comparable to perez-mald at all. Perez left a ton of space for Maldonado, he lost the car and wiped Perez out. He should get more than a fine, it's not like the Venezuelan government won't find £10,000 down the back of a couch somewhere.

what else was it?

I dunno, you tell me? In the last 4 posts you have gone from the Merc not being a winning car, to the Merc being unreliable, to Merc being lucky/unlucky.

Could it not simply be that Schumacher isn't as good as you think he is?

Doesn't look like he has many options left...many would probably argue none at all now.

Indeed. Although I expect his management team to try and flood the media with stories about him talking with Lotus or Ferrari or Merc to put some pressure on.

As much as id love him to be at RBR and trust me he has been very keen to be driving for us, i think he will end up staying at McLaren.

Shame really because he is my fave driver and i would have loved to have seen him in a RB9.

yea clearly merc is the best car on the grid and rosberg and msc are obviously below massas level....

just look at all the top drivers gunning for merc seats its totally obvious its the best team by a country mile

Throw Seb across to Ferrari tbh.

Hamilton/Webber would be a good partnership.
