Wish i was there this year but ill be on the phone to book tickets the minute they go on sale for next year. Will be booking weekend grandstand at stowe B, me and my late father went and sat there in 2013 and was an unforgettable weekend.

I spent a fortune on Becketts grandstand tickets and camping for me and my boy, I'm considering trying General Access and camping next year as there seemed to be quite a few decent spots still free when we got in around 8.

I voted it an eight, it would have been a six if it hadn't been for the Ferrari blowouts and the 1-point gap in the WDC.

There were quite a few exciting incidents spread out across the race but it was fairly dull in between.

Drivers of the day for me were Bottas and Ricciado for their recovery drives and Hamilton for being flawless.

People still go on about the noise. The F2 and F3 cars were far louder its true, but they weren't a nice noise at all. You couldn't hear anything above a wall of noise. I'm sure V10's and V12's sounded wonderful in person but the V8's sounded rubbish. And the V6 turbos didn't sound rubbish but they were quieter.

This. The vast majority of the engines in F1's past (including the V6 turbos of the 80s) sounded great until the V8s which were terrible. The current V6's are decent, and could do with being a bit louder, but they're fine as they are in my opinion (and certainly in person, and a bit better on TV this year now that Bernie has gone). I guess at Silverstone, where the fans are generally a fair way from the cars, they probably did sound a bit quieter than most tracks.

Personally I'm loving hearing the crowd during the racing. During the Verstappen/Vettel battle and when Alonso set his last-gasp lap in Q1 it was great hearing the crowd as loud and clear as we did.

The 80's V6's weren't much louder, though much raspier. You could easily and clearly hear the crowd back then as you do now.
