Been watching F1 for over half a century, and it's fair to say it has changed greatly since rhen, and not for the better.

Lewis was never ahead at any point, max actually moved left to give Lewis space, Lewis had space on the right to go to the apex but didn’t and they hit.

He'll have learned you'll only get a 10 second penalty for running your main rival off the track, so there's that.

If it was the other way around, I don't think it is a penalty. I would guess that stewards don't want to look like they are swinging the championship.

Hamilton could have taken a tighter line, that's the only thing they could have done it on but he never opened the steering angle.
