Broken S-max

Spilled petrol a few miles down the road? This is sounding dangerously negligent - or have you annoyed the service department that much?

And we still don't have this back

The idle is all over the place , It has hill start assist and when you try taking off, if the revs are dropping when the hand brake releases and you move off it keeps stalling and the same if on a flat if not giving it a lot of accelerator. But if you give it some gas then you pretty much launch the car lol.

The reason they still have it is that they where waiting since march 20th to get the same model and engine in to compare it to. Although a couple of the guys had been out in it and agreed it is not right. I have since driven a friends exactly the same age , trim and engine etc and they are nothing alike. They have said if something the same had not been in by last weekend they are sending it to another franchise 15 miles away for another tech to have a look at it.

Yeah, it's been over 4 months now and it's still not fixed. I'd be applying pressure to the dealer to replace the car.

I got an engine replaced in my ST under warranty, by faxing ford UK executive office a pretty shirty letter, and within days the dealer calls me to tell me the new engine is going in the same day.

Just call ford UK office number and ask for executive secretary's fax number

Ford HQ are in the mix and we are trying to sort it out with them at the moment .
What's the latest on this part of it all? I think we are all amazed that you are still talking about the local dealer and what they are doing and not more about what is happening higher up?

I do feel for you, but it seems to me you need to get on this and get rid of this lemon...and this is coming from a fellow Smax owner.

Well today I am told the car is at another branch 12 miles away and their master tech cant find a fault with it

So I have one dealership saying they don't know how to fix the problem and the other saying they cant find "A" problem and they want me to drive to the other dealership to show them the problem

You really need to get in contact with Ford's customer services... 4 months and you still don't have your car, what are you waiting for?

I wouldn't want it back if I was you

We finally received the car back middle of may telling us they couldn't find anything wrong .
34 miles later the RAC where out as it had a slice in the tyre with a fresh kerb mark all the way round the rim. The other thing was there was a misfire on cylinder 2, 3 and 4 with oil and gasket sealant all over the spark plugs so this and work below confirm my complaints about the revs and everything else

Roll on yesterday and we have received the car back with the flowing work done

New clutch and flywheel as there where heat spots all over it from liquid from the original engine failure where some coolant managed to get in the box , new wiring loom which was 20 hours worth of labour as coolant caused failure from original failure again , new coil pack, leads and spark plugs , new tyre and tracking etc.

Fingers crossed that's the end of it now
