At the clock speeds being reported, I wonder if we could see a bigger variation in top-end speeds this time around between different models.

Has there been anything said on any changes to how GPU boost works on the 4 series?

Yeah, looks like scaling with voltage will be better this time. On 3090, over 300W you will only get ~7% with additional 100W.
Maybe finally a good overclocker worth watercooling.

For the price of that Asus Strix 4090 you could get a pretty nice system up and running with a 3090 Ti and that isn't bloody slow!. Coming from an Asus Strix 3090 OC owner the prices are absolutely insane now, it really can't go on climbing and climbing. When you can buy almost 5x Xbox Series X consoles for that singe GPU it's beyond ridiculous.

If your building from scratch a high end system you could pretty much buy 9x to 10x Xbox Series X consoles!

For some reason the Strix brand does seem to command an unwarranted amount of fan boi loyalty.

In times gone by, spending extra for OC models was worth it. With current card gens, and the crazy price difference between FEs and AIBs... I just cant see the value.
Back when the FE cards where loud blower cards, sure the better cooler on a AIB was worth the price difference. (esp when that was usually less £100 diff.)
Now?
The 3090FE cooler is amazing. IT looks great, it cools well, and it isnt very loud. Quiet why you'd spend even +£100 is odd, but spending + £400? For what exactly? Slightly higher clocks, maybe a couple of FPS more in some games?
Surely its better to take that money and spend it elsewhere in the system.
