OCUK originally had the prices from MSRP 1679 to 2000 on the basis that the pound to dollar rate is 1.14. It fell and they raised the prices but said the old prices would return once the exchange rate got back to 1.14. Well the exchange rate went higher at 1.15 and the placeholder prices went up

This is standard OCUK practice...we've been seeing it for years, everyone knows it.

just keep an eye on above currency exchange fluctuations impacting on price, pound is recovering quite well atm

FE + EK block once we see the reviews to confirm power limits are not gimped on FE.

In all seriousness, I think NV just know what they've got.

Yet they seem pained to tell us what it is. -Opting instead for a smoke-and-mirrors presentation that steared clear of raw performance metrics.

Maybe they were trying to keep 3000 series sales on life support.

Maybe raw performance isn't impressive enough to generate the level of 4000 series hype they need.

I guess we will find out soon enough.

But what about non default BIOS settings. Will await reviews details to confirm before I decide :)

Here we go again... you will 99% be able to adjust PL in Afterburner.

Exactly, same as I do on my Titans, and with custom bios flashed I can do 140%.

Just want to see what the review say to confirm.

I haven't seen a BIOS switch in any of the pictures. Maybe there will be a warranty-voiding custom BIOS consumers can flash to their FE's?
Very much doubt a hardware switch, more software adjustable power limited.

You can decide not to buy it on October 12th

Indeed.

Is it not the BIOS that determines how much power is available on the slider?

I am seeing FE adapters with 4 connectors, so Tom's could simply be wrong about the 450w limit on the BIOS.

OCUK were worried about scalpers buying up all the stock so they came up with a cunning plan to scalp the cards themselves to put off any other scalpers! :P
