Indeed.

Is it not the BIOS that determines how much power is available on the slider?

I am seeing FE adapters with 4 connectors, so Tom's could simply be wrong about the 450w limit on the BIOS.
Yes, but in Tomshardware article they said that by default BIOS does not allow more than 450W - so they did not say it cant be changed via slider, it just meant that default powerlimit is 450W

Techpowerup on the other hand said you can change Powerlimit on FE to 600W.

So we will need to confirm on 11th, but I am fairly certain you can adjust power limit to 136% in Afterburner.

The fact the FE comes with a 4 x 8 pin adaptor would lead you to believe it has a 600w limit as that is overkill for 450w alone ... i do think it will be able to be adjusted but not to 600w ( + 33.4% ) more like 504w ( +12% ) although the FE 3090Ti is hard locked to 450w afaik and can't be adjusted where as the 3090 FE can be adjusted for 350W to 400W in afterburner so will have to wait and see what we can actually do with the FE when reviews are out next week hopefully .

2080ti had +26% / 3080 had +16% so hard to say for sure - lets see on 11th.

Seen an interesting video on the gigabyte aorus master and the shark bionic fins claim of 30% increased static pressure. The video says it’s basically rubbish and 3% at most! Will be interesting when the AIB reviews come out as the top end cards now have a considerable price difference from the cheaper 4090 cards.

I’d rather pick up a 3090 for £700 than pay £2000 for a 4090.

90% of pc gamers are playing Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA5 etc and a 3090 will handle those games effortlessly for years.

The games you listed run great on a GTX1080, why should anyone upgrade. People must be proper crazy on marketing to be buying new GPU's to play these games that have mobile phone graphics

We don't do politics here right. That's a shame, because this is what politics does to economies when clueless people are in charge. Do those prices come with the forum discount for long-standing members?
