BRSK

I’ve been on them for 2 years in Stockport now and they’re great

BRSK are currently rolling out in Preston, my BT FTTP 900/110 contract is up in October so hopefully they will be live and taking orders by then.

My current connection in fairness to BT has been great with full speeds at all times of day and a ping of usually around 8ms, my connection has dropped about 3 times for a couple of minutes where I've noticed my IP has changed - presumably due to maintenance works. What's the latency like generally on BRSK and do they have any peak time issues? I'm looking at the 1Gb/1Gb (900/900) package and paying the extra for a static IP as I do use site to site and dial in VPN's, can't quite justify £60 a month for the 2Gb service (plus static IP) even though I have 2.5Gb internal infrastructure to support it.

Up until now I have been stuck with VM as all others provide terrible speeds (best alternative was BT with 36MB!) and VM know that that's why they are charging me so much. BRSK is now available in my area and it would be cheaper to switch to them on their 2 gbps plan than what I am currently paying for a 500MB with Virgin so I think I am going to do it
6 months now and I am happy with them on 900/900. I've been gaming quite a bit of late, and had no issues. Smooth.

Latency very good and no peak congestion here ever.

Seems like someone working at brsk is trying to scam referrals, So I signed up using a referral code from a forum member here and signup went fine I selected my package and setup direct debit etc etc and I received an email telling me I have signed up to the site. Around 5 mins later I received another email from official brsk email giving me a name of a random person saying they have referred me and I should use the link to signup etc. I checked my account and there is no package listed so I ring brsk and they say they have record of me signing up to the site but no record of any purchases for any packages!

Hey,

I'm having BRSK 900Mbps installed next week. I have been with Virgin Media for the past couple of years with the Superhub 5 and the WIFI coverage was fine for my house. Does anyone know how the router supplied with BRSK compares with the virgin superhub 5? It seems the BRSK router supplied isn't WIFI 6 unless i choose their 2gig service.

Not sure if i should buy a new router or not.

When I got my 1Gbps install they gave me a basic Technicolor, it was solid for wired performance but as expected for Wifi. They sent a TP-Link one when I upgraded to 2Gbps, again solid wired speed, good 'power' featureset but I only tested it for a small amount of time as I have UB wifi and my own router.

Would recommend them to anyone and everyone who can get them, they've been exceptionally good.

I'll probably turn off their marketing as only downside I find with them is kind of begging too much to introduce people.

I've told any friends and family that I find them good and I'm happy. I keep it active so I don't miss a deal or something via email. I don't need a email and SMS about the same thing on any given day. My only complaint which seems small to other things that could be happening, touch wood!

My current contract with Vodafone is coming to an end in the next couple months & I think I'll be going to BRSK for my next provider. Opinions seem to be mostly positive & the prices are good for symetrical. Will probably be going for their 500/500 package, as it's plenty for me & really don't need the 1g/1g (I'm on 150/10 at the moment!), as much as it might be nice to have, just so I can say I've got 1g symetrical!

I got my 900/900 broadband installed yesterday and i was surprised they gave me a WI-FI 6 TP-link router. The installer told me they only recently started giving those out as before they were only for 2Gig broadband users. It seems okay for me so far but i would probably look at buying my own at some point in the future.

I do like that I managed to bag another £100 voucher this month for an intro.

Has anyone in the north-west noticed slow down in the evenings? I've noticed slower speeds and higher pings for the past two nights after doing speed tests. I also noticed when playing battlefield 1 and battlefield 5 online that my latency was fluctuating from around 28 to 80 when checking. During the day it was around 21.

When searching online there seems to be a few people saying BRSK are aware and are doing maintenance to try and fix this but i haven't received any info from them.

Seems a strange complaint to have unless you are inundated with marketing emails. Personally I only get them now and then, eg I got one towards the end of May telling me that if I refer anyone during June we'll both get a £100 voucher instead of the usual £50. Can't really complain about that imo (referral code in signature btw :-p)

Been with BRSK for just over 18 months now. Very happy with the service and definitely recommended them. Just not looking forward to renewing with them in about 6 months because I doubt I’ll get the same deal again, fingers crossed though.

Not really been on the PC the last week due to having surgery and not being able to but not notices any issues with just general usage. I did get a message from BRSK a couple of weeks ago informing me of maintenance that they'd be carrying out. Maintenance was done over a few nights so maybe that was to resolve the issue in my area if there was one.

My connection has been great since posting. The installer did say to me i may notice fluctuations over the first day or two so not sure if it was that or if there was a an issue that has been fixed. The only thing i had to do was turn off band steering on the router as it didn't seem to work properly with my devices.

I'm happy so far and don't regret leaving Virgin Media even though i never really had any issues with them.

I think you jinxed us hahaha as download speeds are affected this evening in Manchester

It took them just over 24 hours to resolve my/others issue fully and I was only impacted where I had around 1/3 of my 900MB download and u/l was not affected. Luckily, It was never fully down. It didn't really impact me all that much. Gaming was fine while it was going on and sure I had to wait a little longer for a game patch to download. It could've been a lot worse. They sent multiple emails to customers to keep us kind of in the loop.
