I've just bought a Asus RT-N56U to replace my trusty DLINK DIR-655 as I need some of the extra features. After reading some reviews, I'm looking forward to it arriving and hopefully it won't disappoint!
Have a look at thread on the Asus forum, sixth post.

Was reading about VPN the other day with regards to Asus, as I was considering buying one, & wanted to know more about VPN.
Cheers. I'll see what it does when it arrives, and if it doesn't support it I'll send it back under the DSR and start looking for a different router.
It's a shame Cisco routers with decent wireless are so expensive. Maybe one with an AP attached could be an option.
It doesn't support a VPN server natively, only pass through, you'll need 3rd party firmware for that such as: http://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/
