The engineer said I should get 76mb down, 19 up as he tested my line :D.

I'll give the test a go later and hopefully my upload will be better :).

Mine just changed on the checker again too, from march to june. Our exchange is enabled and the new cab is there teasing me, bloomin annoying.

Mines also changed from March to June. The reply I got from the nga email address was that I could get FTTC in May. Cabinet was installed recently but no further work is being done at the moment.

Scotty try the London servers, they are generally better for me.

BTW does anybody know if my Pings will improve from 20ms after the 10 day training period is over? My connection so far has been rock solid.

scotty thats gd connection how far if u know are u from exchange or cabinet in metres

550m from the cabinet according to google maps walking directions. The cabinet itself is 500m from the exchange, so I'm 1km roughly from it.

I am a bit worried though as my phone line runs right past a street light, if when it switches on, my speed will drop. I had problems with my adsl in 2005 whenever the TV or kitchen lights were on!

luckily with it being fibre optic now, the distance to the exchange isn't really a factor anymore. but thats a good speed for half a kilometer. My cabinet is about 250m away, so im hoping for good speeds also!

Really weird though, just down the road, where my local shops are, 3 fibre cabinets have been installed, all within about 30m distance of each other. BT must be planning to steal a lot of VM customers around here lol

In the same boat here so frustrated now.

I also sent an email to the nga address got deleted without it even being looked at.

I would jump onto digital region if the price was better.

grrr mine has changed from 30th june to 30th September.

This is annoying me, my current internet is crap, only manage 6 or 7 meg at the best of time, get frequent disconnects and if one person in the house downloads something it makes the internet go at dial up speeds for everybody else.

My exchange has been enabled for about 2 year now and they still haven't put a bloody cabinet in.

really annoying.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

It has been snowing an awful lot, but still... good old open reach not meeting their estimations again and again. :p

Just had infinity installed and in my BT it says unlimited broadband with BT infinity 2 , I take it that is the totally unlimited package?

BT told me that the limit was 300GB on that package after i asked is there a fair usage policy, you won't be charged for going over but will be throttled back on speeds for 30 days if you keep going over that.

Probably the standard BT dodgy routing - post a tracert to bbc.co.uk

Its unlimited, It was removed a long time ago and I regularly go over 500gb a month

I take it it is also free from traffic management?

They say that if you sign up now then its not traffic shaped, I couldnt verify this myself but i do know that i have seen torrents reaching full speed round my areas at peak times for a while and my upload goes past their 1Mb/s old blanket cap.

Hm, still getting half the upload I should. I'm hoping it fixes itself within a few days. I guess it isn't really important, I don't upload. I'd rather the download speed be better!
