Just an update, I complained to BT during my install that the engineer never fixed the line fault before leaving my broadband install. Someone called me Tuesday to take notes and empathise.
Anyway, today was the day that was booked for an engineer to fix the fault. For the first time in as long as I can remember the engineer called at 7:30am! This was a godsend as I was able to show him the setup before leaving for work.
So, after finding a bad connection at the cabinet, and a "bare wire that had corroded" on the pole, we're back up and running (I'd turned off the vDSL modem while the line was buggering about as it was dropping sync).
This was the speedtest before..
Here's the speedtest after and the line stats.. Not sure on the length of the line to the cabinet, but by the road it's easily 700m.
I suspect I'm still on a similar BRAS profile, although I can't prove it as the BT Wholesale site is buggering about. Providing it stays stable, I'll take a 5Mb increase
Anyone know how to use those Echolife graph plotting tools? I can telnet in to the modem and get the results, so it shouldn't be too difficult but the way the wikis are written are retarded.
