Just had Infinity installed today and although my line profile show a 20mbit upload, I cant get over 9.xmbit. It is not an OS issue as I have checked on Windows and iOS with the same results.

EDIT: Rebooted the modem whilst rewiring and looks like it might have cleared it, or maybe theres been a firmware update or something?

Very happy with that.

Gutted. Moving in my new house next weekend, can't get internet (infinity) till the 25th or something like that.

That's even worse (in my mind anyway).

I've also noticed youtube sometimes taking a while to buffer and my ping sometimes going mental in WOW.

I don't suppose complaining will make much difference?

My BT Infinity is very slow these days.

When it was first installed it was typically circa 25mbit.

Whats wrong?

My connection still seems to be running faster than expected. Should be mid 60's down. This is using a TP link TL-WR1043ND.

What results do you get with test at speedtest.btwholesale.com?

After running the test follow the 'Further Diagnostics' link and see what it reports for your upsteam and downstream IP profiles.

I'll be moving house in a few months time and the new place should be in an FTTC area.

I know it's probably been mentioned before but what happens in situations where the master socket is downstairs somewhere but you want all the router/modem stuff upstairs on another extension?

If it helps it's a new build place so can I just say put the master socket upstairs in what will be the study?

Have they started shaping things like news hosting lately? Getting 2kbps or something ridiculous.

We have normal BT broadband at 5mbps and its usually ok, just evenings from 5.30 to about 11ish its unusable. Down to lower than modem speeds.

It's being advertised for my block but they'll only do the install if a certain percentage of residents sign up. I'm already on BT Infinity and I don't really want to be paying £50 a month for Internet access.

With that 12.68 Mbps IP profile there's definitely something wrong.

What's the estimated speed for your line?

What steps have you taken to fix the problem?
