BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

is that from your isp or from one of the sites ??

That's quite a jump, normally they push it back 3 months at a time.

Have they said why?

It's from the BT DSL cheker - http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/.

Since my number isn't recognized I put in the number of the pub on the corner. Checked this morning and they put it forward a year. Rang the council ages ago and and according to them BT never applied for a cabinet even though there's houses all over the place and everyone round this are has been asking for it for ages. The e-mail address to ask BT has gone down to, can I ring Open Reach or anyone and ask why it's been put back so far?

Really is taking the **** this is. Knuckle daggers a couple of miles up the road have it and some areas down another route have about 15 houses down it and a small fiber cabinet!

why not phone your isp to see if they can give you an answer ? even if they cant help you, you'l be able to tell them you want it which they can pass on.

Waste of time. Better to email [email protected]

The email is closed for any enquiries now...
Further to my previous post my parents house has now been put back again.. Its been over a year they have put it back now! Was end of March 2014 now the checker is saying between July-December 2014!
Its a joke the whole town as been done !

Rather than messing around why don't you just put your address into the checker? This is very accurate and will reflect your actual property (the reason your number is not recognised is because it is not a BT line, you are with TalkTalk not BT)

Its not a right to be covered by FTTC by the way, i cannot get it either. Its just pot luck. :)

Cheers, will give it a go on Wednsday.

I get this...
The address you entered could not be matched. Please amend and try again.

Doing the post code checker gives me 31st of March 2014 lmao. I'm on St. Johns Road, down the street (a couple of houses) from the pub so I would have thought that if the pub doesn't get it then neither will I.

I know it's not a right but wouldn't it make sense if everyone in the area wants fiber? Looks like i'll just have to wait and pray. :(

We've got a VDSLAM outside our estate that has been there a year apparently and they still haven't provided FTTC. They even slapped a sticker on it proclaiming it is available. Still shows 31st April 2014, just like it has since I started looking in Sept 2013 before we moved in.

I know its not a right but surely it can't be that difficult seeing as they sited the cabinet. The whole village is hooked up to their cabs, apart from the 300 or so houses here.

NGA enquiries said something about a power issue when I asked, but really how hard can it be to run mains to one of these things.

4Mbit is just too slow these days.

My Infinity 2 connection after approx 1 month:

Think I might call BT and drop to the 40Mb Infinity 1 (unlimited) package and save myself £3 a month. Should max out the 38Mb connection and well under the capped 9.5Mb upload.

Would you guys recommend me going back to BT Infinity from Virgin i left because i had so many connectivity issues the connection was dropping in and out while i was playing games and i left 6 months through the contract it was incredibly frustrating hopefully theyve upped their game in West Sussex
