BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

In light of these capacity problems ( I know someone who had this problem too ) do people still receommend BT, or would PlusNet be a better option?

I'm mainly concerned with keeping my latency down for FIFA and COD online XBOX live.
 
Iv been using BT infinity since home hub 3, since Iv updated to HH5 I haven't had any problems, I usually connect 10 devices by wifi and I also use the BT duel band wifi adaptor with my desktop and gets the 2.4 and the 5Ghz without any issues

contacted your current isp and see what they say. or find your cabinet and see if theres a fttc cabinet next to it.

if your not on a cabinet but hooked firectly to the exchange i think your stuck with what you have for a while longer until bt get around to hooking up ftth or you drop a stack of cash on a ftth install.

Since my number is ex-directory I can't check my own phone number so i've check houses and a Pub on my street and I get this:

Says that it should be there before the 31st again but it's 21st now and there still isn't any sign of a fiber cabinet. Could they fit one in the next 10 days do you think guys?

Maybe for you mate, mines been pretty much flawless. I used to have a terrible connection on VM every night from 17/18:00 until 23:00, I used to read other using complaining about their problems due to being in an over subscribed area on the forums all the time.
 
Spotted this as I got back from town earlier. No idea when it was installed, probably a few days ago. Whether there's anything inside it yet I have no idea.

My flat is right behind this wall :D

Puts my mind at rest a bit. I was a bit worried that my area wouldn't see fibre at all. At least this tells me it's coming, however delayed it might be :)

Where is your flat by? I can't tell and it's really annoying me!
 
So the date of the fiber cabinet has just been moved from 31st of March 2014 to 31st of March 2015.

Still have no idea behind the delay and reasoning behind this and I demand fiber! :mad:
