I don't think it was a DNS issue as such - looks more like a major routing/peering outage which made BT's own DNS servers (and OpenDNS) inaccessible as collateral damage, but for some reason Google DNS was still reachable. I pinged (pung?) 8.8.8.8 and it was fine, but OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) kept timing out.Changed my DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) and everything is working fine now.

I just moved to a new flat and i need to install a broadband. When im checking availability on bt website it say i can get the fiber broadband. The problem is that ill be living in the new place for only 12 months. Does anyone know a company that offers 12 months contracts for fiber on bt cables?
