Installed replacement HH5, connection went down last night:-

"PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]"

and my connection is now down to 66Mbps :(

The HH5 is crap and I am going to change mine for a different router as the new software update for the HH5 has fixed nothing really for a lot of people.
I have mine hard wired to everything and an open reach modem connected to the HH5 so no issues with being disconnected the only thing is the WiFi plays up and disconnects quite a few times a day for maybe a minute or so but not a huge problem as my wife only uses WiFi for her iPhone.

I have separated both the 2.4 and 5GHZ SSids and also turned off the sync option and selected a channel for both 2.4 and 5ghz and rebooted the hub but nothing makes a difference.
Looking on the BT forum this seems to be an issue as well as the hub disconnecting and no matter what I have tried with other members suggestions the WiFi seems to carry on regardless and disconnect.

My speed is still fine due to having the open reach modem connected to the hub and this is the most important thing to me.

I switched off 5 Ghz and went G in my house (not just to avoid the dropping but also to get better reception/penetration though the house) not had an issue since.

If you have a laptop, I guess that might be an issue though. I am only streaming to an ipad and that is more than enough for me. Mrs S's laptop is near the Home Hum 4 and she does not use it for much.
 
BT Engineer came out and reset DLM (he didn't even know he could do that until he spoke to his boss)

From their phone they have to call:

17070 > 31
Option 8
Option 4 > Select Job

this resets the Infinity port in the Cab and the DLM.

The result is I'm back to full speed again:

I just did a ping test on Internet Speed Test. First time I've tried it. One of the results was Jitter. What is jitter ?

 
Just wanted to add to this thread to say I am having a nightmare of a time at the moment trying to manage the infinity connection at my parents. They are having constant daily disconnects (PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]) and a relatively slow 34.18 Mbps / 11.72 Mbps for what they are paying.

BT do not give a flying ****. It rymes with duck. I have had countless conversations with there moronic indian support centre who repeatedly state moronic sheet script which is incredibly frustrating when you are technically proficient. The last indian douche bag i spoke to refused, to my face, to arrange the engineer visit I was requesting. I mean flat out, dont pass go, dont collect 200 dollars, I will not book you an engineer, go **** yourself.

I was instructed to email their official complaints/on going issue team, have recieved no response. Current automated response from this 'escalation' is an out of office reply.

Utter joke of a british institution.

BT OpenReach are an unfit for purpose company that should be nationalised for the good of the UK's infrastructure.

They haven't upgraded any green cabs here for over 3 years since FTTC began. I see OpenReach vans go by but they obviously don't do anything useful.

My area was supposed to be done in March 2013, we even got loads of flyers from various providers through the door.

Now come March 2015 - still nothing - cabinets were installed 18 months ago, someone who lives 300 yards from me is on a different cabinet, has had Sky fibre for 18 months - me, nothing. Cabinet has just sat there.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I haven't - I've spoke to BT and Openreach and just get the standard March 2015 as per various checkers.

However that date started out as March 2013 and just keeps moving backwards all the time.

Bit disappointing that FTTC speeds haven't increased in years. 80 Mb/s download is fine but I could really use more than 20 Mb/s upload. I'd get FTTP if it was available and financially viable - my cabinet is literally outside my house so it shouldn't (but probably does) cost a lot to install.

May I ask, genuinely, what you need more than 20Mb/s upload for? :)

The engineers in the vans are not the problem. They can only do what they are told. Wholesale are the main issue.
 




Been having some issues last few days, speed seems ok, but using wifi, images not showing up etc. Really bad lag spikes on some games too making them unplayable, even after a refresh/restart.
