BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

No I've done all I want, I just want Internet access, I'm not getting Internet access

edit

Ok, simply connecting my pc straight to the modem doesnt work, How can I use my HH5 as a router with my unlocked HG612?

I've put the ethernet in the WAN port on the HH5 into LAN 1, turned the HH5 on, stays orange and doesn't connect

Anything i'm suppose to change in the HG612 settings?

I editted my post after realising you can't simply plug your PC straight into LAN1, What settings do I change in the HH5 and HG612?

Right, i just wasn't being patient with the HH5, it finally synced with the HG612 and now have interwebs :D

Also, I used a guide from Kitz, and the F/W used is sp10, That's not the latest is it? If so should I upgrade to the latest?

If your on BT i dont think you need to change anything just plug it into the WAN port on the home hub. I think the settings are all the same and it should work, thats what people on the BT forums are saying anyways.

You can just have internet by plugging it straight into the PC but you need to go to network sharing centre.
click add new connection
select internet connection
broadband PPPoE
Username: [email protected] Password: BT
click connect

Although this will only be the internet on that computer.

Edit regarding SP10

This is the version that they released to satisfy some kind of open source thing or something. I am running SP08

https://mega.co.nz/#F!LdJFDIJL!e_E1twsIg2kTet8mPjrb4w in that folder the one ending in WEBGUI. and having no problems with G.INP. This is Hwolf's version from the kitz forums http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,14262.0.html

Right, updated to SP08, any settings to change, I know most disable QOS

Cool, If i plug LAN 2 into the HH5 I can still access the HG612 settings aswell as the HH settings and be connected, that's made life easier xD

I've disabled QOS, just need to see if the HG612 can make my connection stable again and bring me back up to 80/20, I'm now synced at 58/2 thanks to the random disconnects from the HH

Under basic WAN you can delete the PTM1.301 connection, just select it and then remove at the top right. This is the connection that BT use to update the modems and stuff like that. This way it wont auto - update to a locked firmware.

Other than that i disabled QOS and changed the LAN ip of the modem to something that works better on my network :)

Alright, i'll delete PTM301 and leave it at that.

How do my stats look anyway?

Bare in mind my HH5 has been doing that stupid restart every 20 mins thing again, and I resetted the HG a few times during the FW flash, I'm hoping with stats like that and the HG staying stable i should get my 80/20 speeds back.

I've had big issues these last few days, my HH has been restarting every 20 mins, I've gone from 74/19 to 50/500kb, then to the stats at the top of this page, I've had a real real bad week with the HH.

So i'm hoping DLM will see (If the HG Proves stable) line is stable and bump me back up to as close as 80/20 like it was before.

Hopefully it will start to increase soon for you then :) I have had no issues with my HG before i restarted it a couple of days ago it had held the sync for 83 days :O

Put my HG in Saturday, It resynced during Saturday night back to what it was when I first got Fibre back in Feb and its stayed that way, Why BT stop supplying them is beyond me, as its quite clear the HH5 is not up to the task, albeit the hardware or the software restricting it.

My stats now with the HG612
