BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Mines saying speeds of 27-40 meg! I hope it’s not 27meg that’s awfully slow in this day an age.

I still speak to many a customer who gets 2.7 or less. One customer was getting 9 Meg on Fibre and thought it was great because he could watch Netflix. Previously he was getting around 1 on DSL.

I'm still waiting...but not hopeful now as they have to pay for any change of service after November:(.
Not had the price increase e-mail either, have you Jimben?
Not a peep out them either way. I only signed up in August though so I assume I won't get it as I'm on an intro offer?

Just had the price increase Email today (I,m on an offer ) called them up and basically was told I could stay on my current pricing of £46 a month ,or cancel ,so I,m off to Sky Fibre Max for £30 inc line rental

They dropped the price increase on me too.
My original contract ends in March so I guess I'm free to look elsewhere now though topcashback looks a little dry for good offers from other ISps at the moment.

They tend to fluctuate. Sometimes you can combine offers from ISPs and TCB/Quidco as well (e.g. whenever BT does their £100 gift card offer you can usually get cashback too). Worth checking MSE for current offers.

Like many I've had the Email from BT regarding the price increases and the 30 day notice should i wish to cancel and move to another supplier. If for example i was to notify BT of my intention to leave today, when would be the best time to get in touch with the new supplier who will take over, is it the same day or do i need to wait 14 days?

After a farcical few weeks, I've finally got my FTTP hooked up. Went for Infinity 3 for now which should be enough :D

Is it 30 days from the email or when the charges increase?

Seems the latter is more likely to me.
You have 30 days to cancel from the email notification and it’s 30 days from cancelling to the service stopping.

I’m not sure how this works with transferring to a new ISP. You might be able to transfer sooner but you’ll be on the hook for the full 30 days either way.

I’m still on home hub 2 which I’m my opinion is far superior to homehub 5 which constantly dropped out but now suddenly it’s having to be rebooted quite a few times a day and even hard resettled , so I just bought a tplink 9980 but can’t get it to work after easy setup , also what is the bt username and password as I don’t need that as. Don’t have to login ?

I've had the price increase email, with the option to keep my current price if I extend my contract. I could just get out but I'm happy with the price and service so think I'll do that. However I definitely don't want to keep BT TV once my current year is up on that, I'm guessing if I extend the broadband deal it won't affect the TV but anyone know? Tried their live chat but gave up after a while as it was so painful.
