Hi, just recieved an email from BT offering a free upgrade to their Option 3 package but as an existing broadband customer, it says it is with unlimited bandwidth for no extra cost.

It works out cheaper than we are paying at the moment, and we get a free router, up to 8mbit etc etc.

Seems like a good deal (too good to be true...hmm) and worth going for, but the only thing is that I'm not sure about if there is/will be any fair usage policy on the connection?

I've emailed BT, but while I wait for a response, does anyone know anything about this offer?

Cheers.

The unlimited usage starts at the beginning of December. Was on option 4 so i decided to swap, paying less and getting more on the monthly usage, just made sence to me.

I got the same e-mail :) - as i am with BT Yahoo ( i am on the old option 4)

What do you think the catch will be ?

Will my line be trottled? :o

Yeah thats what I thought, but i'm wary of a catch...hmmm

Whats a Homehub?

I already have a wireless router - I'd probably just use the extra one as an access point for a better signal.

Received my home hub yesterday, and its staying in the box :). You do not need to use it.I still have my netgear plugged in for my broardband and as far as i am concerned thats the way it is staying.

As for a catch i am still looking for one that i did not have with option 4.

i might go for this offer tbh unlimited download's ummmm <3 :)

I wouldn't consider it to be unlimited for starters.
You can guarantee both traffic shaping and a fuzzy cap (i.e. if you're using what they decide to be "too much", you can guarantee they'll tell you to sod off).

Had a very slight increase in the speed, was connected at just under 5000kbps and now its showing 5184kbps, apart from that i have noticed no differance when using the net.

The way i looked at it was that i was saving £3 and getting a package that ment if i did go over the 50gig cap i should have no problems.

It does look like BT are trying to get all there option 4 customers to swap to another one through.

Right i am on the phone to bt they dont seem to havea clue about this e-mail

he said to me " let me go and see my manager about 5 times" :o :p

Righ then - i got them to confirm it will be unlited downloads :) and i haev just orderd it :)

HE said to me " you have been chosen to be unlimited  "

Dont know enyway i have orderd it now :) i will see how it runs :D
