received an email from BT last week about upgrading. It mentioned going from option 4 to option 3, 8mb and unlimited downloads. They provided a link. You click on link, follow directions, but it comes up with a sql error on the page. Apparently a few others had the same email, and the website error has been like that for a couple of weeks.

Bt are trying to get people of the old option 4 to get to option 3 With unlimited ussage :D

oh yeah, when i was ordering it i got taken to some page where you click order TheBT Home hub for £49.99

and i have just checked my e-mail and they are sending me one for free

David334

£49.99 should be for the phone that goes with the home hub iirc, you should receive the home hub anyway (thats the over rated bit of plastic i got), which you still don't need to use.

Did have to check al my e-mails from BT to see what i had ordered as i got my password and username for the Broadband Talk option (that goes with the phone) and didn't want that bit, seems they send this to you anyway (password and username).

Will be intresting to see if the BT web site shows option 3 as unlimited after the 1st as this is when all those who have moved over get the unlimited download.

My dad works for BT and we always tend to get a better deal on the broadband, and about 2-4 months earlier. He is now using 8mb broadband (around 7.2 due to distance) with unlimited usage (was 50 gig) and we can have a free wireless router, but since we already got a wired one ("borrowed" from his test kit heh). I think we pay around £18 a month, maybe £20. I don't read his bills :p

We originally started with the basic dial-up service, back when you had to pay a monthly fee AND per minute, and slowly got offered upgrades.

Still, great news, especially considering BTYahoo have always judged your usage limit as download + Upload.

With the Broadband Talk deal (free evening & weekend calls) do you have to use the Homehub?? Can I still use my existing wireless combi and still get the free calls??

Cool, I've searched for more info, but drew a blank. Anyone know a little more about this?

I received the Home Hub and couldn't get any faster speeds with it than my previous 2mb, so I stuck it back in the box and have continued with my Voyager thingy. Total waste of time setting it up.

You mean the "adaptor Ethernet to phone plug in for the router"?
It's an ATA. Linksys do one (PAP2 IIRC), Cisco do one, and loads of other firms do them too.
