BTCC 2013 Season

Have I missed a bunch of retirements, or is there genuinely only 10 cars in the Porsche championship?

I've never really got the Porsche's. They seem to be a bit to big for most of the UK tracks and the races are never that exciting. Its a bit of a lull in an otherwise excellent BTCC package of races.

At home and nice and warm and dry now watching the TV :)

Agreed, I don't think they suit the BTCC package at all. They come across as very fragile, and expensive which leads to stand off racing. They could with another Ginetta class or something.

I think there's a car change for 2014. I'd hazard a guess the those not chasing title glory are saving their cash for 2014. Field was definately bigger at the beginning of the season, probably 14/15 cars.

Yea 991s next year.

They need to bring the Scottish Mini championship down for some more of the northern England races, they are always a right laugh.

Race 3 should be brilliant. Can't see Plato not winning the race, so what does Jordan have to do to make sure he wins the title? Probably a bit too difficult all the way from the back, but still doable, smith did it in race 1.

The current crop of BTCC cars all sound dreadful to me, wasp in a bake bean tin, even with the pops and bangs from turbos I prefer the old n/a super touring cars!

Why? The new cars are faster, cheaper, more reliable, more real world relevant and have produced the largest and most diverse grids in BTCC history. And I think they sound great live. Completely drown out the S2000 cars.

National Touring Car series need to reprisent their national market trends. The UK doesn't have a culture of people buying large multi cylinder saloons, so as epic as it would be, a V8 Touring series just wouldn't work over here.

But god I would walk over hot coals to watch the V8s live!
