Build Log : Nocturnal [Eyefinity]

very nice indeed.
I wish i had the space to do such a thing.

I supose that is the only reason i am even thinking of moving out with the missus, but then, if i get myself on the property ladder i am sure i wont have the funds avil to take on such a project.

Catch 22.

ah the miller and carter

OcUK tech team's local

sorry i couldnt be there to meet you sam, but they dont let me out in the sunlight very often :p

i may be wrong, but its been bugging me all weekend

i am not 100% sure that i saved the 4.2GHz overclock. i know i saved the 4GHz one but i cant remember saving the 4.2ghz

sam, it may be best if you nip into the bios

tab across to the 'tools' menu and enter Asus OC Profile

in there you can name a profile and save it to a blank tab

that way you will have a backup

that is unless i did save it [might just be me worrying too much]

Hello Rich,

Will definately do so tonight and will post here right after I do it buddy! Really loving the system so far. Just need to sort a couple more things i'e the GPU and getting my serial code for 3dVantage to work! Everything else works brilliantly!

ta,
Sam

Updated with a couple more pictures of Richards fine workmanship and some other random bobs.. :)

Any issues with screen flicker with your eyefinity set up?

Nice set up by the way! :)

Jay

Hello Jay.

Cheers buddy! Spent quite a bit of time setting it up properly hehehe. Nope no flickering at all budz. Thankfully my card didn't have a cold bug either!
What clocks are you running on your 5850 mate? You've got a nice eyefinity setup as well.

DG -Cheers matey!

If you don't mind me asking how much did this build cost you? I am looking at a similar build (with 3x22" instead of 24")

Is the water cooling really necessary or would air cooling be enough?

samuelc could you post a link to the right galant desk on ikea.com as there are loads of options

i cant fit my three new 23" samsung monitors (simular 1152p model) on my current desk so need a replacement :(

and thats annoying as my current desk isn't even that old, a word of warning eyefinity is REALLY wide

Cheers mate, standard clocks till i get the flicker issue sorted, im beginning to wonder if its the Sapphire active display port adapter... I dunno what display port adapter have you got or do you have a diplay port monitor?

jay

holy crap that is nice, what are the white cables? guessing for Watercooling, but what are you using thinking about a nice upgrade to maybe something a bit beefier and with some sort of watercooling :)

even though everything says DONT its water + electric = explosion
how does a watercooling system work? i have seem that some have cables coming out of there system - where to?

give my build log a read [link in signature] for a rough idea of how to watercool every key component in a system

Hey guys.

Apologies for the late reply. Work has been extremely painful lately.

MikeJasonSmith - They are Altec Lansing Speakers :) Mx5021

Jay - My active displayport is the one from Dell. No problems whatsoever buddy!

Richard - Hey Hey mate! Just sent ya an email regarding the overclock! I hope I haven't destroyed it grrrrr

Phil 1978 - Yup the Eyefinity setup takes up a lot of room. My wife and I had to calculate really carefully regarding the space available on the galant desk. to Fit all 24 monitors plus the 800D AND the speakers was a little tricky at first but if you play your cards right, it fits like a glove. The table is extremely sturdy as well. The T Legs which I opted for pushed the price up but in the end, the desk cost £179.00 which to me was a bargain in terms of the size and sturdiness compared to other black desks out there. I only wanted a black desk and believe me mate, to find a black eyefinity desk is not easy. Looked for a week.

- Will try to post more pics and updates this weekend hopefully!

Have a great weekend chaps!
Sam
