Building my first PC in screenshots

How did you go about this? What card did you use? I would be able to spend a bit more on my build if i could work these flipping things out. You can always email me (email in my trust)

What your email, I send you the info.

Hi Otemu

I must say I've really enjoyed this thread, in fact it inspired me to build my own (despite your problems earlier on!).

You've got a nice looking set up in the end. But you have no mini-fridge - so where do you keep the beer?! :)

It has been a great experience, even with my problems I had, believe me its not hard, I think the key thing is take your time really. I must admit I have actually enjoyed building it more then actually using it.

Mini fridge would be great if I was a single man, my setup is in the living room, I think if I got a mini fridge with beer as well my missus will kill me :D

It's the PSU switch he's on about this one:

If you want to lower your voltages and temperatures, flick the red 230 switch and watch those voltages and temperatures change.

Very interesting the 1st motherboard with damaged socket pins I put on ebay and has already reached £127 with 4 days left, to think people were offering me £40 on gumtree but I was holding out for £50.........

Or is this to good to be true.........................

Can't believe it has all turned around, might save the round of drinks for build two as I feel to sell this PC already and build another  I got the building bug now....................

well at least you're smart enough to sell unlike me....

I held on to technology and didn't think of recycling/selling stuff to upgrade. (call it too much cash too little sense).

I've only just started to sell now and can't believe how much space I'm making :)

Hate ebay, the winning bid of £127 sent me this message:

"Hello i am very sorry but id like to ask if you could take away my bids please for 2 reasons. 1 i dont have the money because i bidded on impulse and 2 my mum bought me a motherboard without lettin me know til it was too late. Again i am very sorry and hope this doesnt cause too much inconvenience"

Dam annoying

Inconvenient but it sounds like a kid who had no idea what he was bidding for anyway. Would have put money on him coming back saying 'it dont work. its damaged so i want my money back' - Anything that is advertised as damaged or for spare/repair will always have some people who have no idea what they are doing bidding on it.

Hence why the 'e' in ebay stands for eeeeeeeeeediot

for a minute there i thought you sold the whole rig for £127

I've really enjoyed this thread... like others have said - makes me want to take mine to pieces just so I can build it again!! lol

Nothing to me is more satisfying than that first whirrr of the fans as you power up a new build for the first time (that and decent cable management! I've got serious OCD where cables are concerned!) it's such a warming feeling... Then when you milk some extra speed out of it with a dabble of overclocking... makes you feel like a genuis for ten minutes!! :)

Great system you've got there too man! I know how hard it can be trying to find time to do these things with the kids around (I've got 4 - 6, 4, 2, and 3 months) evenings become your best friend don't they lol

Glad the story had a happy ending and everything worked out well for ya :) bloody annoying with those mobo's but like others have said - we all encounter a doa component from time to time - and we all frazzle something as well

My third build, I was too eager to get it going and totally forgot the HSF on my AthlonXP2000 and it died in about half a second! I was devastated!! hehe
