[Buildlog] GAME HARD, FOLD HARDER

.... as is the fan grill! You also say in your "plan" that...

"The theme will be completely black with orange accents."

Poor me. I confoosed. Nice concept, but I don;t like the green PCB personally. It just doesn't go with anything else in your build that I can see...

What was wrong with the black an orange? Your fans are orange/black....

Hey man no ganging up on me *swings fists uncontrolably around*

:p :D

Sometimes you just have to try something. Also I don't want the orange to be too much present. I will first try this with white and orange leds. If I hate it I can always try something else.

For example paint the plexi case black or antracite and remove the paint in the engraving. Put leds in and then only the letters light up.

This is kind of a "he who doesn't try won't succeed" kind of thing. I can always choose not to use something or change the concept right?

Please don't be mad :(

I like actually quite like the plexi. But I would be tempted to use a smoked grey plexi maybe trying things with orange LED's

I think it depends on the colours of the build and the idea behind it. You can make it work for every case I think. Thanks a lot for the comment btw.

I think it is time to show this baby.

I have thought long and hard about this. I was almost sure I was going to buy the MSI Mpower. But in the end I couldn't resist. I got brainwashed by a couple of friends and by it gorgeous black and orange colourscheme (and of course the amazing specs of it and SIN's amazing results). So without further talking, lets just watch it in silence. ... :evo:

This is a rather odd shaped box...

Weapon of choice.

It is, it is..... :wth:

:wheee:

I want to thank Ben from Salland who not only gave this project a very nice discount, but he also added two shirts in the package to give away to viewers. Not sure if they will be given away here. All depends on the amount of replies from people. Thank you very much Salland and thank you very much Ben!!! :thumbsups

I do rather like Gigabytes colour scheme - that's why I recently went for the X58a-GA OC mobo. Seeing how your build is going has inspired me that my rig needs a bit of Black and orange in it :)

When you unboxing the mobo? Dead keen to see that.... :)

I also wanted to go that mobo man. It is utterly gorgeous! But those CPUs tend to like a lot of power overclocked. So I went with this one instead.

Unboxing has been done and photo's are coming up. But I hope my neighbour will make better photos with his high end camera. Mine just can't shoot the pictures a mobo like this needs :(

It must need a lot of power - there's 2x8pin CPU PSU ports available, not to mention 2xSATA power to the GPU's!!! I'm rather hoping that they only come into play when you are using EXTREME overclocking and not just a heavy-under-water overclock.

The photo's you've shot so far have been superb - but if your neighbour can do a better job to better show the board, you've definitely got me captivated... Looking forward to seeing this...

Well the sata for the gpus are just way better than the ugly molex ones other brands use. And I too have 2*8 pin for the cpu haha. I will use them both. If only just for show. Nah I will use them because of the big oc I hope to achieve.

Give us more reason to show off our amazing sleeving skills correct? ;)

Speak for yourself! I'm still working out how to lay out my build :) CPU has been awaiting customs clearance since 4th Jan :( so I've been having to test components with a boring i7 920...

What cpu have you ordered? A hexacore?

If you need a custom sleeving job hit me up, I do them a lot for others for a small fee.

Yes mate - I've got a 980 I ordered from the states new years day.

As for sleeving, that's a very kind offer - I'll see how my build goes first - not sure what I'm trying to achieve yet :) I hadn't even thought about what colour sleeving, or whether to even use sleeving :)

this build is epic !!!! love the detail ..

Thank you so much :)

Haven't read the whole thread, it's bed time almost, but I had to comment. Those hex grilles are amazing

Hope you had a good night. Thank you for your comment.

Pretty sweet

Thanks.

Nice. A hexacore is a strong CPU. It will suit your mobo very well.

A pro build needs pro sleeving ;)

I personally think sleeving is very important. It is like the icing on the cake. It can make or break a build. It just looks so clean and can really add to the colourscheme. If someone doesn't want it to pop just sleeve them full black or shade 19. And of course any other combo is possible when you want to highlight one of multiple colours a bit or a lot.

Check my Facebook for examples, search for Dutch Lion Customising.
