Bullying - Who's in the wrong here?

half the story again, does nobody google anything? :(

Casey received 4 days academic suspension for his act, while the bully received 20/22 and a dislocated knee (lol)

The right thing to do is suspend them both. And although I don't condone violence, but you can say there is a good case of self defence there. The bigger kid was hit first and actually multiple times before hitting back and he only hit ONCE. He could have continue to kick him when he hit the ground but he didn't and he stood back and walked away. That to me is the right thing to do, and I can't imagine it happen the other way round.

I think the reason there are two wrongs or rights here is that bullying, like in this case, has to go so far.

As much as we castigate the non violent part of it, very little if anything is usually done. It's only when it escalates or the victim retaliates is there ever an issue which results as in this case, a suspension.

It's a pity really, because often victims are bullied because on a social basis it's deemed they're unable to defend themselves.

In the short amount of time between the break and when he tried to walk on it, the adrenaline would mean that he could at least hobble (which he did).

Ah, good point.

The smack-down was an overreaction but scrawny kid did well and truly provoke larger kid.

Do we know if the scrawny one received any punishment for the bullying/punching?
Edit: Just read above.

I've actually not once seen a case of physical bullying in any of the schools I was at... are they exceptions to the norm? of course there was fights but never bullying. Verbal stuff that got out of hand but for the most part it got resolved.

The Aftermath

The Rat has a dislocated knee, therefore messing up his hourly breakdance routines

The Rat has been suspended for twenty two days, during which time he will dig himself underground to avoid the Beast's wrath in future.[citation needed]

The Beast got suspended for four days, according to his sister. However, it seems more likely he is taking a voluntary four day holiday in order to feed and slumber, so he can continue punishing those who wrong him.

The Rat's parents are suing anyone and everyone, including The Beast and the school. However, The Beast trades not in currency, but in human souls, so this will prove pointless for The Rat's swarm.

I do hope the last statement isn't true.

Alpha as ****.

Good on him. Possibly a little too much, but hopefully that kid not being able to walk properly will be a nice little reminder of why not to bully people. Especially someone twice your bloody size.

No one will bully him at that school again. Son, I am proud.

He did nothing wrong, how you can sue a kid like that, Bullying is serious, it ruins life's to the point of suicide mainly in girls, tbh that kid was stupid for bullying a bigger kid, he is rather large but the power he has is epic.

Lol gogo fat kid. What he did was right in my eyes, twigboy with the small man complex was punching him in the face etc. Fully deserved it. Fat kid should have got his chocolate cake out of his bag and eaten it over his fallen adversary.

Yup, skinny kid came up to him before the gif and punched him for no reason, this is why kids having mobile phones with video capture capabilities is good and bad

I find the whole video a great watch, I have watched it many times today.

If the school has a poor approach with dealing with bullying (common in many schools) then why not take it upon yourself to correct the wrongs? It happens all over the world and in this instance it was caught on video by the bullies mates.

This action will get the message across and he won't be messed with again. I hold no bars against this kind of thing, that is if the video has been portrayed in true light and he was a victim of on going bullying.

should have broke his ******* legs to be honest :D

The sad thing is the bully - largely thanks to his parents if that dramatica entry is correct - will quickly assume the role of victim and genuinely delude himself into thinking that he and his friends have done nothing wrong.

I hope the bullying stops for Casey, but I have my doubts. However, with the attention the video is now generating, I think that alone will force the school to act. Although I can still imagine children teasing the lad for being an internet sensation, but that could also quite easily make him very popular. Kids are a fickle bunch.

Let's hope the bully goes somewhere cold soon.
