Burger King veteran of 27 years gets goodie bag for never missing a day of work

Humble Guy
Indeed very humble and even talking about helping saving for his grankids college. This guy is what a father figure and role model truely is, lifting those up in his family to help them improve their lives. There is a distinct lack of familial role models in the world now days.

I guess some people in this thread dont like people working hard and bettering themselves and their family around them

I had my ten years service in 2016, I get extra days holiday each year now, and £500 extra on my wage at the time, what he got was a joke in comparison.
Didnt get anything for my 10 years apart from 3 years of 0% pay increase and a fixed token yearly bonus for those 3 years which was a pittance. It was what it is was but no point crying over it. My jobs zero manual labour and i dont have to speak to customers like the BK guy does so i cant complain.

Meh, 27 years without a day off is admirable, truly, but as already stated in this thread, no different from many others that have done the same thing.

But greed has clearly taken over now. Over 100k and people still donating? That's just sad.
No it’s not. I don’t believe he wasn’t sick at least on a few occasions. I suspect he gets no sick pay, and felt he had to work even when sick.
If you are sick, you shouldn’t feel bad about taking time off. Even more so if dealing with food!

Reality is knocking on your door and it wants to introduce you to the ****** up labour system in the US. We really don't appreciate how cushy we have it in the UK. Workers in the US can get fired with basically no reason and its not uncommon for someone to take a few sick days and suddenly have no job so i can understand why he hasnt taken sick days even when feeling ill.

A lot of these things seem to take on their own life, especially once the press get involved.

There's some kind of paradox involved in working a fast food joint in order to get medical cover.

Plus Burger King veteran makes it sound like he did a tour of duty somewhere. I would like to see his medals before I donate any of my money.

Probably just has a powerful immune system, and the rare times he did fall ill just happened to be on his days off/holidays.

So we should all setup a gofundme for our parents who worked hard at their jobs and who provided for us ? And ask for $50k but say it's not about the money but when the $50k comes easily, let's see how far we can push the generosity of others, maybe push for a million because it's not about money, honest

Yea quite, you work for burger king then wonder that they don't acknowledge you?

I mean get real, the real shame is they guy worked for that company for all those years and didn't realise?

It's a huge capitalist corporation he literally was just a number, if he wanted to be anything more he should have done something about it sooner, rather than trying to appeal to people's emotions after the fact.

The guy is a mug. Burger king demonstrated it. I wonder how many times he genuinely needed time off but his warped, outdated sense of allegiance stopped him.
