Burnount Paradise Demo next week?

What console you buying this for rp?

Its lead console is the PS3 so i may get it on that!

Josh

Probably PS3. I don't really get many multi platform games atm (barely have time to play the exclusives on 360 and ps3 at the moment).

There is enough ps3 guys on here who are cool now for me not to care about the online aspect having less players.

But If I get time tonight (In between some Tekken craziness, GT5, and Maybe Uncharted). I am going to try out both demo's. To me the aftertouch with the sixaxis could be cool. But I love the Crash Party/Tour modes etc where that would really come into it's own. You got Tekken 5 online btw?

Annoyingly I may have to pay Uk prices for this game as the delay between USA release and EU release is only 2 days so an import would get here too late, even though it may well be £7 cheaperish!!

But still, early days, need to download the demos and decide really, but I'm leaning towards the PS3 version already.

Yeah, i'll probably get it on PS3 then as there is more and more people getting PS3's now.

Regarding Tekken, still umming and awring, has it got DualShock 3 support? If so, ill probably buy it when my controller arrives. Should come tomorrow!

Nice demo, looks lovely and nice and smooth, the crashes are wicked, the instant online things is pretty cool as well, seems to work well, quite impressed :)

It has dual shock support which to me is annoying!! I am sitting there with my arcade stick playing away and I hear some little humming as I left the dual shock on and it is rumbling like mad on the desk/bed. I have played with the DS3 pad as well, and I just find the rumble annoys me. Coming from arcades, I don't think rumble adds anything to beat-em ups tbh.

Buy the game now!! And play online with us tonight!!!

Wow, what game was i playing there?

Need for Speed or Burnout? Seems to feel more like Need for Speed now which is horrible, doesn't feel like Burnout anymore. What a shame. Not impressed. Only really drove around, didnt do any races yet.

Was funny to see CompUSA stickers up even though they are shutting down now! :p

A demo only available to Gold members, are they getting desperate or what?

I will await the PS3 version then.

It's just for 1 week, I think this rule officially coincided with the latest dash update. (Up till then it varied by demo/content). Now it is 1 week later for Silver accounts for any demos.

I think I agree with this, but only if it means less downtime and slowness on the days these things are released, if it is still slow then it means MS need to up their infrastructure/bandwidth etc.

When you think about it, Live is a two tiered system anyway, so those that are happy to pay for Gold (like me), should get a better service for everything including download speeds over people who have silver (that's my take anyway).

Edit: Anyway enough off topic from me. There is other threads about Tekken and xbox live changes. This thread is about people downloading and trying the new demo on PSN/Xbox Live.

Considering this game's pretty much built around Live play imo, it's hardly anything to fret over.

If you were a TRUE Burnout fan, you'd have Gold ! :p

I just hope it's not turned into NFS, those games suck, Hard. :(

Crap, just what I didn't want to hear, I also think I will dislike the free roaming :(

Is it available on PSN or only on Xbox360 for now?

Exactly my thoughts when I first heard it.

I dislike Free Roaming, and would much prefer the old system of just jumping to the races. However, other games have pulled it off. NFS: Carbon, while hardly being a classic, had free roaming, but you didn't have to use it.

However, it IS Burnout, so am willing to cut it some slack.. in fact, I dare say I'll be 100% purchasing this one... unless the demo truely sucks elephant testicles, that have been dipped in carp.

V1N.

Well personally I don't think it's very NFS at all. There's the smog-look to it, but then a few others games have had that too.

Been playing it a while now and seeing things all the time which are breathtaking.

300 online challenges and there's a handful in the demo too, such as "Having a meet" on the train station roof where you have to go up the car par and launch yourself off and land on the tin-roof of the train station, or seeing who can make it from one end of the area to the other. Brilliant stuff.

Yeah the free-roaming isn't very "Burnout", but I'd imagine there'd be a few variations in the MP stakes. The "Marked Man" (which is new) I guess would be free roaming, and the demolition mode may have areas of the playarea only available.

I can't imagine races been free-roaming at all because you'd probably end up with some party-pooper just going where ever and the game takes ages to finish, but certainly similar to Burnout where there's a linear route but a variation of paths to get there.

It's definately different to the other Burnouts, and I'd imagine some of the challenges are going to be really tough and we're gonna be hearing of loads of methods people are achieving a goal.

I just think it's brilliant, it's been on a pre-order for literally months and I can't wait for the final version now.
