Bummer, I've not even tried it yet but but from what I've been hearing it sounds like the single player aspect of this game is going to be sub-standered, it all sounds like a poor mans Test Drive Unlimited tbh, I'm in the same mind set as you mate, all want to do is race, thats what the Burnout series is about
, I feel if I try this demo out it's going to tarnish one of my favourite game franchise's.

never been a huge fan of the burnout series, played this demo for around 30mins earlier today, its OK, nothing special at all, graphics are pretty nice, a bit over washed out but that just seems to be the style these days.
IMO it played just like NFS but with better crash dynamics, cant say ill be buying it any time soon.

Well I thought it was really fun personally.
Yeah, but it was originally due last month and inbetween I have seen 2 other dates. I tend not to like to import hardware but I may do for this one.

I have seen it for sale, standalone in Belfast ......... which is strange if you say that it has missed its release date.

Crashes are nice but then they always have been in this series. Not sure about the rest of the game, needs a quick event select from the menu imo (couldn't see one there?) just like nfsmw had.

also it needed a replay option. I did this awesome crash and hoped i'd be able to go back and look at it (like Skate) but I couldn't find anything.

Must admit, I'm a tad dissapointed
It just seems to have lost that 'Burnout' feel, that flat-out manic lunacy and intensity of the previous game.
I know the traffic checking was a bit 'marmite' in the last game, but I loved it. Just steamrollering through packed streets felt fantasic in the last game, a real adrenaline rush. I'm gutted that they have messed with it.
The whole free-roam thing doesn't work for Burnout, I hate having to drive about looking for an event.
On the plus side it looks nice enough, and the crashes look amazing, the crash physics are supurb.
Overall though, a dissapointment for me

Same. It's another "me too" game with the free roam thing. There's no place for it in a burnout game.
It's not like they have given us a fast car to demo with, once you unlock the fast cars then I imagine it will shift at some pace

True but even the first cars in Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge had a real feel of speed to them especially when you had the boost going. This is on the other hand deffinitly seems to be lacking that buzz I got from the other games speed.

Xbox live is rubbish, it is official. They stop Silver users downloading new demos and the download speed is still slow. before the excuse people gave was demos are for everyone so you are not paying for it. Now it seems I am paying for it and getting piddly download speeds.
I await a rolleyes from some members who know nothing about networking I guess. But I been waiting all day, the PSN version ain't up and I am getting laughably slow speeds downloading from xbox live again.
My beef is the service used to be fast, and nowadays it isn't. Bloody crap.
